Reviews
"Lilydale Library staff were very helpful. The library excellent, many areas for customers"
"Librarian was friendly but I heard discriminatory remark like “She is not ~ese.”It was sad. They’re friendly but not from bottom of their hearts. I don’t like to see that they’re pretending friendly but next moment the contents they’re chatting among colleagues are horrible. At the moment I see their real nature."
"Its crammed into two rooms on the ground floor of the old Swinburne building at the top of a fairly steep hill. It has been there ever since Lilydale Council decided that they wanted a new building and booted them out. Every noise from the kids area is concentrated by the hall between the two rooms, blasting out into the non-kids area. Bring headphones if you want to sit and read or wish to study. On the topic of studying, there is nowhere dedicated to doing so. The tables supposedly for that purpose do not have dividers or backwalls, meaning that you will be staring into a window while looking at a screen and there is nothing stopping the people sitting at the same table from disrupting you. When did corrals die off? I swear that the graphic novel section has shrunk since I was last there. If it were not for the fact that it's frelling freezing next to the cafe area, I'd say that its better to read outside the library than inside it."
"Incredibly difficult to read or get any work done in this space, which makes me so stressed every time I visit. It’s SO loud I wish there was an effort to use inside library voices, ironically the visitors are quietest :/"
"Here's the thing. Librarians are always smiling and helpful, but having to join the library just to use a computer as a visitor and the 10 minutes lost because the "system" didn't recognize the password...? There is no standardization across the library network including equipment and processes. User beware."
