About the Business
Welcome to Edinburgh College Early Learning Centre, a Christ-centered institution located at 47 Edinburgh Road in Lilydale, Australia. As an establishment, point of interest, and school, we are dedicated to providing a nurturing environment that promotes academic excellence and a commitment to service.
At Edinburgh College, we recognize and honor the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation as the original custodians of the land on which our institution stands. This land has a rich history of teaching and learning, and we acknowledge the enduring connection the Wurundjeri people have to this land, its water, and its community.
Our mission is to develop children of character through nurture, learning, and service. We offer a continuous Christian education for children aged 2 to 5 in our Early Learning program, as well as Primary School and Secondary School education on one campus. Our college is situated on a quiet and picturesque property in Lilydale, surrounded by the beautiful Yarra Ranges.
In addition to our academic programs, we also offer the Edinburgh College Sports Academy, which provides elite sporting opportunities and promotes character development through academic excellence.
Our Early Learning program is designed to give your child the best start to their lifelong learning journey. We have a strong support structure in place to ensure that every student has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Furthermore, we offer a scholarship program that recognizes a range of student talents and aims to enhance their holistic development. Scholarships are open to prospective and current students entering Year 7 or Year 10 in 2024.
Edinburgh College is a private Christian school that caters to students from Early Learning to Year 12. Located in the picturesque and semi-rural setting of Lilydale in Melbourne's outer east, we are committed to providing education for the whole child, focusing on academic, emotional, physical, and spiritual development. "Me, my partner and our 2 yo son had a tour with a lovely staff last Friday and was quite keen to send our little boy to this centre. Filled out the enrollment form, and came 3 days after to ask last few questions before handing in the application. (it is our first time sending our boy who was born and raised in covid situation, so we are very nervous and cautious about this process) We were “lucky” to meet the director of this centre who was absent last week due to health condition. She basically told us that she had no clue about the availability in the near future, and cannot be bothered to check the current wait list and give us any sort of idea of when we can have an opening. It’s not that we are firm on specific days, we are flexible to the extent that we can take any one day of the week to start. After expressing our intention of getting back to full-time work and my parter getting back to study in June as well as our reluctance of changing child care center after our son attending the first one, we hoped to at least get an indication of whether there is any possibility of an opening soon or it will be a long wait. The answer we get is: “I don’t know” and “You can simply put in the application and just pay $50 non-refundable enrollment fee and be on the wait list. It is ONLY $50, I don’t think it matters. People pay $450 to enroll in Edinburg college. Worst case scenario, if there is no place this year, the enrollment can carry through to next year and year after that. Your son can come back later.” Well…If the director of a child care center don’t even care about the family situation and cannot be even slightly more caring about a potential new family but instead treating us just like a number, how can we be sure that our son will be properly cared and looked after? If the director knew the chances are slim for us at the moment or this year, she can simply told us that. We can make our decision to either find other center for the time being and be on the wait list or not considering Edinburg at all. The whole time, my gut feeling told me “No”. Now I understand why, the director is not even listening to our situation and try to help us. We now decided NOT to send our son to this centre even though we liked it, a lot actually at first sight. But, having a leader like this, we are not sure how the staff would not be influenced. I am sure the director would not even care about this. I am writing to tell other families who are thinking about sending your loved one here. Do a little more research. p.s. $50 might not be a big matter for us but CARING is."
