About the Business
Welcome to Kingswim Mernda, a premier learn to swim facility located conveniently on Breadalbane Avenue, co-located with Mernda Central College. Our purpose-built swimming pool is dedicated to providing a fun and rewarding experience for kids and families in the local community.
Meet Justin, one of our friendly and approachable instructors. With a degree in sports journalism, Justin joined Kingswim in 2016 to make a positive impact in the lives of children. He loves seeing the joy swimming brings to kids and families. When he's not at Kingswim, Justin enjoys staying active and following his favorite AFL team, the Richmond Tigers.
Elyse joined our team in April 2022, driven by her passion for working with children. She finds fulfillment in witnessing our swimmers achieve their goals and celebrates their success when they pass their swimming levels. Elyse is described as happy, bubbly, and fun-loving. Outside of work, she is a dedicated mom who cherishes time spent with her two beautiful girls.
At Kingswim, we strive to make learning to swim simpler for the whole family. Our swimming programs are tailored to each child's ability in the water, starting from infants as young as 12 weeks old up to squad level swimmers. Whether your child is just starting out or becoming a swimming expert, we have the perfect program for them.
We highly recommend regular weekly lessons as consistent practice leads to progress. As a bonus, we offer a free start-up kit that includes a membership card to scan upon arrival and a free pair of Kingswim branded bathers, perfect for swimming in Australia's diverse regions.
Unlike other swim schools, we don't make families wait until the start of a new school term to begin lessons. Anytime you're ready, we're here to welcome you and your family.
We believe in the importance of family involvement, which is why all parents are required to be present during learn to swim lessons. This not only ensures safety but also allows parents to witness their child's development firsthand.
Don't just take our word for it. Our satisfied customers have shared their positive experiences with us. From our bub swim sessions that help babies become familiar with the water to our professional teachers and warm facilities, families have consistently praised their time at Kingswim Mernda.
At Kingswim, we also acknowledge and pay our respects to the Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia. We recognize their ongoing connection to the land, sea, and community, as well as the wisdom of elders past, present, and future.
Join us at Kingswim Mernda and let us help your child become a confident and skilled swimmer while enjoying a fun and rewarding experience for the whole family.

"Good for kids to learn how to swim. Instructor's are patient and knowledgeable."
"Kingswim is not as flexible with younger age groups (6-18months) as babies don’t always have a steady routine, having sometimes a rough night which leads the family to not be able to make it to the class and need a reschedule. Then providing with the option to only reschedule a class once and then get charged regardless if you can make it or not, is a red flag for my family having a child in this age group. I do understand it’s written in the policy but maybe it’s time for the head office to review this part and accommodate for the families with younger children. Also, regardless if it’s written in the policy, it would be nice if the staff were trained to inform the parents who request a reschedule, that they can only reschedule once as per policy. Nonetheless the above, our swimming instructor is great as well as their learning program. I would recommend them for their approach and the way the class is delivered. Furthermore, the staff are great, very polite and friendly, always feels good to go in. The building is relatively new with plenty of changing rooms with extra space for prams to fit in and I always find the facility to be clean."
"Good facilities, that’s where it ends unfortunately. We have a pool at home and my son was thriving in the water until he commenced swimming lessons here (April 2022) which lasted a couple of months prior to us ceasing the sessions (June). He regressed so badly during this time that he didn’t want to partake in the lessons and was complaining about his eyes and nose presumably due to the chlorine content. I felt he was placed in a class that didn’t challenge him, and was below the level he was at. Was limited to monkey walks and using a kick board with floaties - Lvl 1 I believe. Anyway, we went on a holiday overseas immediately after ceasing sessions and within 4 weeks just swimming with mum and dad, he now swims without floaties and unassisted! Amazing turnaround. Unfortunately don’t recommend."
"I wasn't happy with the swimming teacher or they orgnise My Daughter nearly drowned and I was about to go in. She was a beginner swimmer and she went off the white board. Why are beginner swimmers in water above their level? It was about 8 to 15 seconds before the teacher even noticed and she only had 3 children in the class."
"An outstanding swim school!! Brilliant teachers with very positive, kind, patient and encouraging attitudes. My kids have progressed in their swimming abilities well beyond what we’d achieved at other swim programmes in the area. Staff are always willing to reschedule when our kids or unwell or have an unexpected clash in timetables. 100% pleased with the lessons, level of service, attitudes, facilities & parking. Keep up the amazing work Kingswim!!"
