About the Business
Welcome to Footscray High School - Barkly Campus, located on Barkly Street in Footscray, Australia. As an establishment and point of interest, our school is dedicated to providing a world-class education to our students.
We begin by acknowledging the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and the Bunurong peoples of the Kulin Nations as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we teach and learn. We pay our respects to the Elders past, present, and emerging, as well as to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who are part of our vibrant Footscray High School community.
At Footscray High School, we recognize the ongoing impacts of colonization on our First Nations people, particularly within the realms of education, health, and justice. We deeply value and celebrate the strength, resilience, and pride of the longest living culture in the world, as it is reclaimed and generously shared with non-Aboriginal people. Throughout our lifelong learning journey, we commit to opening our minds and hearts to our history.
Our school community is built upon the values of unity, respect, creativity, and endeavor. We believe in working hard and working together in a positive environment, where each individual is engaged and empowered to discover their purpose and develop essential skills for life.
Ensuring every student has access to a world-class education is our priority. We inspire young people to develop the essential skills required for their future pathways in an inclusive and positive learning environment.
Student wellbeing and learning go hand in hand at Footscray High School. We believe that the responsibility for student wellbeing lies with all members of our school community.
Enrolments for our year 6-7 transition begin in Term 1, with applications due in May. For students moving schools in other year levels, enrolments are accepted through our enrolment form. We encourage you to book a school tour to discover all that Footscray High School has to offer.
As part of The Footscray Learning Precinct, Footscray High School is committed to excellence in learning and teaching in Melbourne's inner west. The Precinct harnesses the richness and diversity of the community, providing opportunities for learning in a whole new way. The Victorian Government has invested over $110 million since 2015 to build new campuses and modernize schools, backing our vision for the future.
The Barkly Campus is one of our two Junior 7-9 campuses at Footscray High School. Additionally, we have the purpose-built Pilgrim Campus, also catering to Junior 7-9 students.
At Footscray High School, learning extends beyond the classroom. We take pride in our rich and diverse co-curricular culture, offering extensive programs that inspire and challenge a myriad of passions and interests.
We are accredited under the Department of Education and Training's CRICOS registration (CRICOS provider name and code: Department of Education and Training, 00861K). For further information, please visit www.study.vic.gov.au.
Lastly, we acknowledge that our school is located on the land of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations. We recognize Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as Australia's first people, paying our respects to the Elders, both past and present, as the Traditional Owners of the land on which the Footscray High School campuses stand.

Reviews
"overly strict about stupid uniform policies, terrible at dealing with students one on one and helping them actually succeed. most teachers are nice but the school itself is a bit atrocious"
"humanities teacher is absolutely awful"
"This place is very trash. The teacher: they don't listen to the student. Teacher don't give student any opportunities and students don't have the right to say anything. Some of the teacher have favouritism which is really unfair to the other, they tells their student to give them respect but they are treating us trash"
"Information given is low and am often confused as to what I am supposed to be doing. The teachers are really nice and the school has a lot of potential however the amount of learning I get done feels like it could be better. The STEAM programs this school offers are amazing however the core subjects are a bit more iffy."
"Incompetent leadership (head and campus principals) I’m sure this school can turn around you first need new leadership. Sad as there is so much potential"
