About the Business
Welcome to Kingswim Bayside, located at Highett, Bay Road, 245 in Australia. Our swim school is conveniently situated inside Fitness First Bayside, making it easily accessible for families in the area. As a co-located site, we share change rooms with Fitness First.
At Kingswim Bayside, our Centre Manager Courtney has been with us since 2016 and is dedicated to helping people and working with children. She finds great joy in witnessing the excitement and happiness on children's faces during their swimming lessons. Courtney describes herself as kind, caring, and cheeky. When she's not at Kingswim, you might find her serving the local community on the back of a fire truck or enjoying quality time at home with her Labrador, indulging in her love for reading and country music.
We strive to make learning to swim a simpler and enjoyable experience for the whole family. Our swimming programs are tailored to each child's ability in the water, starting from babies as young as 12 weeks old and progressing all the way to squad level swimmers. Whether your child is just starting out or is already an expert swimmer, we have classes and programs to suit their needs.
Our swimming lessons cater to kids who are ready to learn without their parents in the water, as well as those who want to refine their skills or become swimming experts. We also offer squad swimming for those who want to further develop their skills and passion for the sport in a familiar and friendly environment. Regular weekly lessons are recommended, as consistency is key to improvement.
To make your experience with us even better, we provide a free start-up kit that includes a membership card for easy check-in and a free pair of Kingswim branded bathers. We want to ensure you feel welcomed and supported right from the start.
At Kingswim Bayside, we understand the importance of family involvement and safety. Therefore, we require all parents to be present during learn-to-swim lessons. This not only ensures the safety of your child but also allows you to witness their progress firsthand.
Don't wait for a new school term to begin swimming lessons – we're ready to welcome you and your family anytime! As soon as you're ready to dive in, we're here to assist you.
But don't just take our word for it – our satisfied customers have shared their positive experiences with us. They've praised our baby swim sessions for providing a chance for babies to become familiar with the pool environment and learn important skills like kicking their legs. Our small class sizes and professional teachers have also been highly appreciated by parents.
At Kingswim, we also value and respect the Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and their ongoing connection to land, sea, and community. We pay our respects to them and their cultures, as well as to elders past, present, and future.

"Our bub has loved the classes but…. They haven’t changed in a year. They have been exactly the same each week. The bub remains in the same group, despite an obvious need to move up a level. We noticed the same with much older kids in the same group. The teacher is a trainee- but no one is training her. Most classes are driven by the parents because she can’t remember what to do. She is lovely but we were not given a choice in the matter and have had this teacher for months now- with very little improvement. The previous two teachers were great. Classes have been cancelled on numerous occasions due to teacher unavailability - despite teachers walking around the facility when we arrive and not having a commitment to teach- but with no warning. We are always told once we get to the pool. There is no text or email or notification until after the class is due to finish. Usually about 40 minutes later. The pool temp has been cold a few times and classes were still held - or you could elect not to participate but still pay. The change rooms are warm but despite a few showers, there are only two cubicles for all the kids. The worst part is the customer service- we could accept all the other shortcomings but the girls on the desk are very unprofessional, rude and in my most recent discussion with them - when they approached me as a team in front of all the parents- involved them apologising a number of times for not meaning to be “aggressive”. The exchange was about payment - we pay a month ahead and have always paid on time. They insisted that we input details into an unsecure app which doesn’t work most of the time and would not accept card, savings or cash payment. Their make up classes if you’re away due to illness or holidays consist of one class during times that are inflexible - during work and childcare hours only- but the main thing is how unpleasant and rude the staff are. It’s really horrible dealing with them and we have decided to leave because it borders on abuse. We have raised this with head office but nothing has ever been done. I have been to other pools and would not recommend d this one."
"I’d strongly recommend going anywhere else. The staff are rude and difficult to deal with, our swim teacher was very inexperienced, frequently classes were cancelled without any notice and the only way of paying is by entering your direct debit information into a very insecure platform."
"My daughter Eliana just joined this Amazing Leisure Centre and it’s awesome. Wide water safe for kids pools and clean heated changing rooms, Staff are very professional, warm and friendly. I meet Courtney and Hannah on reception they where nice, caring and helpful and guided us with the right direction to the right class. Swimming teacher Emily is amazing and professional. Thank you ❤️"
"1. 1/4 swimming classes got cancelled due to teacher absence 2. Lack of communication between assessor and teachers. Kids stuck in one level for way too long, no progress. 3. Feedback provided to management but never heard anything back. No one seems to care. Wish there is an option for “0”score"
"Unless you have kids that are 100% "normal" with no delays and absolutely perfectly behaved, do not take your kids to KIng Swim! Especially on Bay road!! They'll tell you, Yes yes yes, we can teach delayed kids, and then blame you! If you chose to cancel you do not get your money back and then you lose your place even if you want to try to use the lessons once they take your money if they know you are cancelling your registration!! No customer service what so ever, all lies!!! All they care about is the money!"
