About the Business
Welcome to Derinya Primary School, a thriving government school located in Frankston South, Victoria. With an enrolment of approximately 896 students, our school is proud to offer a safe, caring, and happy environment for our students to learn and grow.
At Derinya Primary School, we have 39 straight classes and a team of over 70 dedicated and passionate staff members. Our committed teachers and staff work tirelessly to maximize the potential and achievements of our students. We believe in providing a wide range of opportunities for our students to excel academically, socially, and emotionally.
Our school values are at the core of everything we do. We strive to live these values daily, creating a positive and inclusive community for all. We celebrate the achievements of our students, such as our State Champion basketball team, who showcased their talent and dedication by winning the final against Canterbury PS. This remarkable achievement is a testament to the hard work of the team and their coaches.
In addition to our academic pursuits, we also believe in fostering a sense of community and belonging. As part of our 50th-anniversary celebrations, we recreated a whole-school photo taken back in 1996 during our 25th anniversary. If anyone has a copy of the photo, we would love to get our hands on it! This event allowed us to reflect on the rich history of our school and the countless memories created over the years.
We are excited to announce that our Grade 3 and Grade 4 classes have recently moved into our new building. With Grade 3s occupying the downstairs and Grade 4s upstairs, this state-of-the-art facility provides a modern and comfortable learning environment for our students.
Located at 119 Overport Road, Frankston South, Vic. 3199, Derinya Primary School is easily accessible for students and families. If you have any questions or would like to book a tour, please don't hesitate to contact us at 03 9787 3633 or email us at [email protected].
As we continue to provide quality education, we would like to acknowledge the Boonwurrung people, the traditional owners of the land on which our school stands. We also extend our respect to the Traditional Custodians of the various lands on which you all work today, honoring the Elders past and present.
Join us at Derinya Primary School, where we strive for excellence, foster a sense of community, and embrace the diverse talents and abilities of our students.
