"We have a long history with this practice. Both practitioners I have encountered provided a safe space to share and really helped us to work out our individual difficulties. We felt heard and very valued. I've had experience with both Soha and Stacey and both go above and beyond what we could expect from a therapist."
"In normal circumstances, I'm hesitant to provide a negative review as I'm aware it can negatively impact a business/service. However my concern for others (particularly vulnerable children) compels me to share my experience with Berry Collective. Having received a grant from Victims Services for subsidised counselling for my child, I was directed to a number of number of services in my area that were approved by the VS program. I chose Molly Millington at Berry Collective. I first had to request an appointment on Berry Collective's website for a 20 minute intake interview. After the intake interview, my child was booked in for the following week during school time as there were no after school appointments until Jan 2023. I had to organise my child missing classes, and also a private room at my child's school so that he could have a teleconference appointment with Molly. I was directed to send through numerous documents to Berry Collective for his appointment, which I did. My son and I were so relieved to finally get some psychological support. Unfortunately, the day before his appointment, a receptionist from Berry Collective called me to inform me that a mistake had been made and that Molly was no longer accepting appointments via the VS program. It is hard to express how disappointing this was for my son and myself. I spoke to the practice manager who was apologetic and said that she was sorry, that their team was all about caring for their clients, and that they needed to do better. She said that the intake officer who took me through the 20 minute intake had 5 years experience and it was unusual for her to make such a mistake. While it was decent of the practice manager to try and explain, it didn't help my son. When I suggested to the practice manager that they remove Molly as an approved VS counsellor, she expressed 'that was a good idea'. I can only surmise that due to the demand for psychological services at present, only those that can pay the full fees are afforded treatment at Berry Collective. I find that particularly shameful, not only because the lack of duty of care for those (such as my child) who have endured significant trauma, but also because I have obtained a tertiary degree in psychology and counselling, and I know first hand how professional neglect of care can cause additional trauma. I would not recommend this practice if you want help for your child."
