Welcome to Nar Nar Goon Kindergarten, located on Main Street in the beautiful town of Nar Nar Goon, Australia. As an establishment, point of interest, and school, we are dedicated to providing a varied and innovative program within a friendly and secure environment.

At Nar Nar Goon Kindergarten, we believe in the power of play. Our play-based program supports each child's individual development and self-esteem, while promoting social and communication skills. We encourage natural curiosity and a desire to learn through unstructured play materials such as clay, paint, mud, water, sand, blocks, and many loose parts.

We also value the outdoor environment and strive to instill care and respect for nature in our students. Our activities emphasize the use of natural and recycled materials, wise water usage, worm farming, vegetable gardening, and a sense of responsibility for all living things. We believe that children benefit from experiencing seasonal changes and the opportunity to play in a garden.

In addition to our focus on play and nature, we run an Auslan language program. Auslan is incorporated into everyday learning activities, providing children with the opportunity to apply what they have learned.

Excursions are an integral part of our curriculum, as they offer valuable experiences and learning opportunities for the children while building strong connections with the local community. We also celebrate multiculturalism through a variety of cultural events throughout the year.

Our curriculum supports social, emotional, cognitive, physical, technological, and creative learning. We believe that both indoor and outdoor environments are equally important, and we ensure that the outdoor environment is accessible in all weather conditions. We are proud participants in the SunSmart program, prioritizing the safety of our staff and children in the sun.

We understand that this stage of a child's life is exciting and challenging, and we support them through this period of change. By partnering with Nar Nar Goon and St James Primary School, our children have the opportunity to visit and interact with older students.

We believe that play is crucial to children's development, allowing them to explore, experience, communicate, observe, reflect, create, collaborate, cooperate, problem-solve, and imagine. We also understand that children learn mathematical and literacy concepts through meaningful play.

Lastly, we acknowledge that healthy children learn better. Therefore, we promote positive health and well-being practices and learning throughout our curriculum, covering areas such as mental health & well-being, tobacco control, healthy eating & oral health, safe environments, and physical activity.
