Welcome to Headstart Early Learning Centre in Berwick, Australia! Our centre is located at 44 Parkhill Drive and is a point of interest for families living in or commuting through Berwick, Narre Warren, Beaconsfield, and surrounding suburbs. As the Centre Manager, my name is Heather, and I have been working in the early childhood education sector for 10 years, with 7 of those years at G8 Education. I started as an Assistant Educator in 2015 after completing my Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care. Throughout my career, I have primarily worked with infants in the Nursery, understanding the challenges new parents face when returning to work and placing their babies in childcare. This experience has fueled my passion for building collaborative relationships with parents and providing the best quality education and care for every child.

I am fortunate to work with a wonderful team in Berwick, who build meaningful relationships with each child and provide educational care that supports their growth and development.

We invite you to visit our centre and experience our facilities firsthand. Our Customer Engagement team can arrange a tour at your convenience, allowing you to observe our practices and interactions, explore the rooms and playgrounds, and have any questions answered by our qualified educators. If you are unable to visit in person, we also offer virtual tours for all our centres in New South Wales and Victoria.

To ensure that you receive regular updates on availability, we conduct monthly check-ins and send text messages to confirm your continued interest in our centre. Our Family Support team is always available through Web Chat or phone to provide updates or assist you in finding other G8 early learning centres with immediate availability.

Starting child care can be an anxious time for both children and parents. To ease this transition, we encourage you to participate in Stay and Play sessions at our centre and gradually introduce new routines at home. Our dedicated educators will support your child through this process and provide a nurturing environment for their development.

When preparing for your child's day at our centre, we provide nappies, wipes, sunscreen, hats, and nutritious meals prepared by our in-house cook. Some centres may also offer sheets and formula, so it's best to check with your chosen centre for a complete list of inclusions. For nursery children, additional items such as nappy rash cream, dummies, bottles, teats, comfort toys or blankets, spare outfits, socks, and a plastic bag for wet clothes may be required. For toddlers and preschool/kindergarten-aged children, spare underwear, a water bottle or sippy cup, sun hat, closed-toe shoes, two spare outfits, socks, and a plastic bag for wet clothes are recommended. Individual needs, such as breast milk, sleeping bags, comforters, or medication, should also be discussed with your centre.

To maintain a healthy environment for all children, we have policies in place regarding infectious illnesses. If your child shows signs of illness, you may be notified to make alternative arrangements or pick them up from the centre until they are no longer infectious. We understand that this can be inconvenient, but it is essential for the well-being of all children.

Under the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), families are allowed 42 absence days per child, per financial year, which can be used for any reason without the need for documentation.
