About the Business
Welcome to Mount Scopus Memorial College - Gandel Campus, located at 89 Station Street, Burwood, Australia. As one of the world's leading Jewish day schools, Mount Scopus is deeply rooted in the Melbourne Jewish community, with a rich history spanning over 70 years. Our institution is dedicated to providing engaging and comprehensive education, fostering values, knowledge, and skills that empower our students to thrive as active members of their communities, both locally and globally.
At Mount Scopus, we take pride in our larger cohorts and excellent facilities, which allow us to offer a diverse curriculum with a wide range of subject choices. We believe in developing the whole child, valuing learning experiences outside the classroom as much as formal education. Our alumni reunions and mentoring opportunities provide a lifelong connection for our graduates, ensuring they stay connected to the Mount Scopus community.
In addition to our renowned kindergarten programs, we now offer sessional programs for children aged 6 weeks to two years. Our unique parents' group, B'Yachad, launching in August 2023, combines care for your child with care for you, creating a supportive and inclusive environment. You can choose from our Caulfield South or St Kilda East campuses, where our Early Learning Centers (ELCs) provide child-centered inquiry-based learning, fostering curiosity and embedding Jewish values. Register now for Lower Kinder entry in 2024.
At Mount Scopus, we believe in nurturing students' interests and providing them with opportunities to explore and develop their passions both inside and outside the classroom. By doing so, they not only discover what they love but also develop a love for learning itself. Our graduating students leave Mount Scopus as well-rounded Jewish Australians, equipped with Scopus Values and ready to make their mark on the world.

"I attended a Christian college that competed in soccer against Mount Scorpus. In the final quarter of my first away game I was deliberately tripped over by students in the opposing team, two of which towered over me whilst writhing in pain at having both my ankles sprained, and informed me that I got what I deserved for 'believing in Jesus'. The worst part is that I'm not even Christian. Hands down the weirdest hate crime I've ever experienced. Lovely school grounds though 3 stars."
"I had the misfortune of attending the school in the 1980s. I would not recommend this place to my worse enemy despite Kennard wanting to shut down discussion about this. Average teaching , and kids who were generally spoilt that had their own cliques and would simply bully anyone who was a bit different from their pretentious and narrow minded stereotypes. Quite a disgrace that 2 generations from the Second World War religious kids were being bullied. Who would have thought that was possible."
"Staff do nothing about bullying. When they do try there are never any results."
"Excellent place! Great Jewish and secular education and fun mixed together in one place!"
"I go to this school and it is amazing I suggest it to every Jewish person in Melbourne"
