"I’m sure Dr Varol has been helpful for some women however I would not recommend her myself, especially for younger women in their 20s. I found her extremely condescending and she did not listen to me - just kept telling me to get a Mirena when I explicitly said I didn’t want one. When I explained my symptoms she said they might be normal (they are definitely not) and told me to read a pamphlet on endometriosis and think about surgery. No tests, no scans and no indication to book a follow up appointment or make a plan on how to help me. I wasted $300 and was on the verge of tears by the end of it. I have never felt so small and the entire experience was very unpleasant. I also felt that the letter she sent to my GP was not reflective of the consult. In the letter Dr Varol said that I would “like to think about surgery” and see her again. What actually happened was she gave me a pamphlet and sent me on my way. Based on my consult with her I would not choose her for surgery either. Will not be seeing her again and would not recommend to others."

"Prof Varol treated me for endo in 2020. She was one the first doctor in over 10 years who listened to my symptoms and actually sent me for the right scan that picked up my endo. It was everywhere and she did a great job with the surgery. Was very reassuring and caring even when I was having a panic attack going into theatre. "After reading the reviews on this site, I felt compelled to write a review as we had the most wonderful experience with Prof Varol. After struggling with symptoms of endometriosis for 5 years (having seen gynaecologists, gastroenterologists and other specialists with no results), we booked a consultation with Prof Varol for my daughter (19). Prof Varol was so compassionate, kind and listened intently to my daughter's experience. She concluded the symptoms were most probably endo (you can't diagnose endo via MRI or any other means, only laparoscopic surgery) and we opted to go ahead with the surgery. This was booked in quickly and her diagnosis proved correct. Her care before and after the surgery was faultless and there was no charge for the follow up appointment. While we were in the waiting rooms (for surgery), we met another patient who had been advised their 18 year old daughter would need her fallopian tube removed and told she'd never have children by another gyno. They sought a second opinion with Prof Varol - fallopian tube saved, cysts safely removed, uterus reshaped to ensure the girl could carry children etc. This family were over the moon. We too were delighted with the results of the surgery and Prof Varol's expertise and care. Highly recommend."

"Will not go back, they just want money. I got my ultra sound showing that there might be a polyp in my uterus, doctor made me take another ultra sound with one of the "experts" cost $300 then coming back saying they need to arrange surgery for me, $800 for the surgery. I didn't book operation with the expensive place they recommend but booked my operation with RPAH, and guess what, no polyp at all. I think it's fair enough to go through the operation to make sure there was no polyp as sometimes ultrasound can be inaccurate, but $800 for that? Also doc's office called me for a follow up meeting after the surgery, 5mins for $220 while the doc could just give me a call telling me everything is fine."
