Welcome to Kalker Montessori Centre, a premier establishment and point of interest located at 1-3 Estelle Street in Bulleen, Australia. At our school, we prioritize the health, safety, and wellbeing of all children, including those with disabilities. We are also dedicated to creating a culturally safe environment for Aboriginal children and those from diverse backgrounds.

Our team of Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) trained educators are passionate about nurturing each child's self-discipline, concentration, pride in their work, and respect for themselves, others, and the environment. We believe in fostering a sense of joy in learning and provide a child-centered environment that promotes independence and positive social behavior.

We invite prospective parents to join us for regular tours of our Centre. During these tours, you will have the opportunity to see our learning environment firsthand. The tour includes a presentation introducing the Montessori method and a walk around our state-of-the-art facilities. Please allow approximately 45 minutes for the tour.

At Kalker Montessori Preschool, we accept registrations for enrollment from birth. We encourage parents to register their children early to secure a spot and avoid disappointment. As Maria Montessori once said, "The most important period of life is not the age of university studies but the first one, the period from birth to the age of six. The more fully the needs of one period are met the greater will be the success of the next."

Over a century ago, Dr. Maria Montessori developed a unique method of education based on her research and observations of childhood learning and development. Montessori education is often described as an 'Education for Life' as it encourages children to act, will, and think for themselves. Our Montessori curriculum is stimulating, challenging, and designed to make positive contributions to each child's individual needs and interests.

In our Montessori learning environment, we prepare stimulating classrooms that cater to a child's natural tendencies to work, learn, and become independent. Our experienced Montessori Program Directors create engaging activities in practical life, sensorial exploration, language development, mathematics, science, creative expression, and cultural appreciation.

We are committed to using Montessori philosophy and practice as the guiding strength of our work. Our community of children, along with our AMI trained program directors and carefully prepared learning environment, form the essential elements of Kalker Montessori Centre.

Our beautifully landscaped garden extends our indoor learning spaces, providing children with opportunities to explore nature and develop an appreciation for the natural world. We encourage outdoor play and believe that children learn best when they are engaged in purposeful activities that they find exciting and enjoyable.

We also actively engage with the local community. During National Reconciliation Week, our children attended Dreamtime Storytime organized by the Manningham Council, where they learned about Aboriginal culture and history.

We respectfully acknowledge the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation, the Traditional Owners of the land on which our Centre is located. We value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and pay our respect to their Elders past, present, and emerging.
