Laverton Children's Centre

Welcome to Laverton Children's Centre, an innovative establishment located at 15 Crown Street in Laverton, Australia. This children's hub was established in March 2006, thanks to funding from the Department of Human Services, Hobsons Bay City Council, and the Laverton Community Centre & Neighbourhood House Incorporated.

The Laverton Community Centre & Neighbourhood House Incorporated, now known as Laverton Community Integrated Services (LCIS), is the incorporated association that includes the children's centre as one of its three sub-branches. Our centre offers a range of services for children and families in the community, with a focus on enhancing early childhood education and quality care programs.

At Laverton Children's Centre, we have a dedicated team of early childhood educators who actively participate in professional development to continuously enhance their skills and knowledge in the field. We believe in working closely with local families to ensure the best outcomes for all children. We value and welcome your contributions, ideas, and suggestions.

We also want to acknowledge and respect the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, who are the original custodians of this land. Furthermore, we acknowledge the First People of this region, the Kulin Nation, a network of diverse communities who have cultivated the health of these grasslands and waterways for thousands of years. They have also passed down their knowledge and teachings to educate their children on caring for Country.

We acknowledge that Laverton was founded without proper consultation, recognition, or involvement of the Aboriginal people who originally lived here. We pay respect to the courage, wisdom, and resilience of the Elders, both past and present, who have negotiated new ways of living on this land.
