Welcome to Upfield Kindergarten @ Dallas Brooks Community Primary School! We are a not-for-profit early childhood education and care institution located in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. As part of the Northern Schools Early Years Cluster Inc. (NSEYC), we are dedicated to providing high-quality early learning programs in close collaboration with families, schools, and the wider community.

At Upfield Kindergarten, our mission is to Love a Life of Learning and Living. We uphold the values of Trust, Respect, Relationships, and Curiosity, which guide our approach to education. With a focus on authentic relationships and learning through play in nature, we prioritize the individual wellbeing and development of each child.

Our unique Kindergarten to Year 6 (K-6) model aims to facilitate family involvement in their children's learning, foster collaboration between the kindergarten and Foundation teachers, and ensure a seamless transition from early childhood to school. Most of our services are conveniently located on school sites, making it easier for families to engage in their child's educational journey.

As an institution committed to reconciliation, we acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land, the Wurundjeri people, and pay our respects to Elders past, present, and emerging. We are on a continuous learning journey towards reconciliation, working towards creating a culturally safe and inclusive environment for all.

The NSEYC Inc. was established by members of the Broadmeadows Primary School's Principal Network, who have a long history of best practices and innovative programs. Their vision in creating this cluster was to support local families, meet evolving community needs, and ensure the financial viability of kindergartens.

By providing a robust governance structure and expertise in managing kindergarten services, the NSEYC Inc. aims to alleviate the burden on school councils and committees, attract and retain qualified staff, forge collaborative relationships among teaching professionals, and promote the benefits of kindergarten within the local area. Our goal is to address issues of school readiness and transition, allowing teachers to focus on teaching and parents to actively participate in their child's kindergarten experience.

Child safety is of utmost importance to us. We have zero tolerance for child abuse and adhere to rigorous policies and procedures to ensure the safety, participation, and empowerment of all children. Our institution is committed to preventing child abuse, identifying risks early, and removing or reducing these risks. We prioritize the cultural safety of Aboriginal children, children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds, and children with disabilities. Our comprehensive policies and procedures support our board members, staff, and volunteers in achieving these commitments.
