"This is the least user-friendly bank I have used. No tap and go function, you cannot rename accounts on the app. While the staff are polite, every interaction seems to take weeks if not months to come to a resolution."
"I have been with Gateway Bank for over 20 years with multiple loans where they constantly increase the interest rates. Over the years i have discussed this with them where they do not offer any loan alternative and I have just been notified again they are increasing the interest rate yet again to now 8.4%. After investigation i have obtained a loan at 4.63% almost half of what Gateway are charging. After refinancing notification discussions with one of their consultants it was only then did they offer an alternative loan at 5.05% but wouldn't match the other financier Adelaide Bank. Thankyou gateway if i could give you zero stars i would."
"It saddens me to say this, but I'm extremely disappointed in Gateway's approach to a recent loan application. My wife & daughter have BOTH previously repaid a Gateway car loan without ever missing a payment. It was felt that my daughter wasn't able to service a loan in her own name (despite a previous loan, 7 years continuous employment with the same company & owning her own house) so we submitted a new application where my wife & I were prepared to be co borrowers & again the application was declined. So, we have 3 applicants with jobs, owning 2 houses, heaps of superannuation & our application was declined. So much for looking after loyal customers! Sadly, we're so disappointed we'll now be closing our accounts with Gateway."
"If I could give 0 stars I would. A pretend bank with pedantic rules and regulations. Instead of using common-sense to resolve even the smallest of issues they hide behind their pathetic rules as an excuse not to help the customer. Don't waste your time with this bank - the staff are too scared to make even the most basic determination. Have a look at the reviews - they are usually reviewed as 1 or 5 stars and not much in between. So they are either really bad or really good - depending on who you deal with or what your dealing is. And you can imagine they are quick to ask a customer who has a positive experience to take a few minutes to leave a review. Take those reviews away and the score is starting to look like an overall rating of 1 star. Perhaps "Gutless Bank" would be a more appropriate name. I have "banked" with them for over 40 years - from when I joined the CBA and Gateway was the CBA staff credit union. After becoming a bank their service has deteriorated. And I can hardly wait for the generic meaningless reply to this review."
"Gateway Bank have been wonderfully supportive during a time my health was exceptionally poor. I have had a 9 year mortgage with them and want my new home purchase to be with them also. The staff were wonderful with advice at all times. I am so pleased with their service."
