"A fairly standard fish and chippery. All the usual offerings with some nice combinations for singles and families. They use gummie shark for flake that my wife described as stringy. I found the flake not stringy but not thick and flaky either. Batter tends to be a little heavy on all the items. The chips are thick cut and juicy! Moorish and easy to overeat. The prawns in batter were whole and tasty again thickly battered. Large scallops in the basket too. Limited drinks but alright. Seems a popular place as the location is good. I wouldn’t rush back, it’s overall clean, well managed and cooking standard f&c that we tried this time. Pricey? The value combo options offer some savings."
"Pier 31 Fish and Chippery is a solid example of a mom-and-pop fish and chip shop. Service is friendly and fast, the food is good and reasonably priced. We ordered several items from the menu: The lot hamburger tasty and solidly constructed and packaged well. The Dims Sims and Corn Jack were cooked correctly with the crunchy ends and sides soft. The chips were crunchy and will salted along with having the small crunchie pieces mixed in amongst it and the fish was well cooked and not over battered. If you're in the area and looking for a quick bite to eat I would recommend Pier 31 Fish and Chippery."
"Not good at all. Overcooked and dry fish, hard potato cakes and hard chips with black burnt bits. Use to be really good but its gone down lately......way down. !!! We will be going elsewhere in future."
"Overcooked food as you can tell by the photo. Wouldn’t recommend"
"Loved it! Hadn’t realised it had changed owners. The last owner had high standards, he had the passion and the drive, and yelled a lot. But I wasn’t a fan of their chips as they were dry and powdery, so never came back here for years. Randomly dropped in today to give it a retry, new owners were super lovely and smiling, and the food was exactly how I love it. Some say it’s too oily, but I would say that it’s well balanced and finally not too dry like before. Salad was super fresh too! Will be coming back."
