Welcome to Thomastown Childcare Centre, a part of Journey Early Learning. Located at Charles Street, Thomastown, our brand new centre is purpose-built to spark curiosity and create joy for children. As an establishment, point of interest, and school, we provide a supportive environment where children can participate in a wide range of exciting play-based learning activities.

At our centre, children can explore adventure gardens, have fun in the water play area, and even challenge themselves on a rock climbing wall to build their confidence. Our regular cooking classes are a particular hit with the children, allowing them to develop new skills while having fun.

We are passionate about guiding developmental outcomes and providing a creative environment for our little adventurers. We believe in the importance of children exploring their local neighborhood, so we take them on mini adventures to places like the train station, library, and even our local coffee shop. We also take strolls through the neighborhood to say hello to the neighbors, fostering a sense of community.

From peek-a-boo to prep, we're here every step of the way. School transition is a major focus for us, and we work hard to ensure it is a smooth process. By providing a safe and secure environment, our children develop confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of self for the school journey ahead.

Our Kindergarten classrooms are intentionally designed by our Teachers to align with the Journey Standards and the Early Years Learning Framework and Curriculum. We have Government Approved Funded 3 and 4-Year-Old Kindergarten Classrooms run by ACCEQA approved Early Childhood Teachers and Qualified Educators. Our 4-Year-Old Kinder Program includes ongoing support from teachers through our School Readiness Program, ensuring every child is prepared for school.

I'm Kat, the Centre Manager of Journey Thomastown. With eight years of experience in Early Childhood and Care, I am currently studying a Bachelor of Early Childhood Teaching. I have been part of the Leadership team at Journey Thomastown for several years, and I am passionate about providing the best possible care and education for children.

Children love getting out and exploring in nature, which is why nature-based play is a core part of our curriculum. It teaches them vital life skills such as confidence, independence, exploration, and cooperation. Playing outside also promotes health and wellbeing and teaches them respect for the environment.
