"My girlfriend lost her Apple Watch and I had cover with Allianz through my credit card. I thought it would be a nightmare. I was pleasantly mistaken! Easy to apply, quick claim turnaround and wonderful staff really nice and friendly. I will now be switching all my insurance over to Allianz. The most important thing with insurance to me is ease of claim and how strictly the PDS is used to deny claims. My watch is both electronic item and jewelry. One pays out less than the other, I assumed they would go with the one with the lower cap so I thought I would lose $300. Nope, full complete payout."

"Look Elsewhere! Concerning: Allianz Care Australia (health cover) is much more expensive than other providers in the area -unfortunately had to sign up as they were one of the only providers when you are on a specific visa- is slow to respond to requests, and has staff whom lack empathy or interest in getting to the bottom of any of your needs. They also have a horrid cancellation policy, where you need to let them know to cancel ahead of time, and will not refund you if you have already paid for the month - regardless if you have new insurance or not. They don't advise you on any of this. Don't waste time or money here."

"Price gouging. Illegal direct debits. They increased premiums by almost 50% despite no accidents or claims. They continued to deduct premiums even after I cancelled my policy. And then they denied doing it. Despicable in every way! File an ombudsman complaint when dealing with them."

"I usually only leave food reviews, however I will make an exception for Allianz. Absolutely disgusting and unethical business practices. Been a customer of Allianz since Jesus wore sandals and have never made a claim ever. During the recent heavy storms, damage was caused to my property and Allianz had the audacity to say to me that my property was neglected and not maintained…. like hello?? perhaps you can talk to the majority of your customers like that but anyone who has seen my house would be able to easily tell that my property is well maintained and not one of your Government houses. It honestly appears that any excuse not to cover for damage will be used and nothing short of a tree falling onto the house would equate to a successful claim (even then I’m quite certain you would say that I should have maintained the tree and took care of the roots better). I hope one day soon a Royal Commission into Insurance companies will be initiated and who better to start then with yourselves since you are the most unethical of the bunch. Absolutely shocking and disgusting…. I actually have no words. Please people, don’t waste your time or money. If you are considering insurance go with GIO or CommInsure, at least you have a chance with them."

"Long wait times on phone. Cut offs and wrong transfers, I rang to make a small claim on a vehicle accident. The wait time the first day was 1 1/2 hours and transferred to 6 different people and eventually cut off. 2nd day I tried again and again 6 different people I was transferred to and then put back on hold another 1 hour wait. I think I know what is going on here as the last person I was transferred to who I was assured was the correct person to speak to I could hear a tv and possible a small child in the background. STOP WORKING FROM HOME LAZY PEOPLE AND GET BACK TO THE OFFICE AND DO SOME WORK! It's too easy for them to just say oh you have got the wrong department and then throw you back to the switchboard. This is outrageous customer service. I ended up placing my claim online with great difficulty as none of the claim forms seemed to suit my circumstances. Would not recommend this insurance company due to this woeful service. Some of the higher ups in this company should jump on the phone and try the service for themselves. They should hang their head in shame."
