"Had an internal flight cancelled on an international trip and tried to claim for additional expenses incurred having then missed a connecting flight and thus being unable to reach our intended destination. The amount and breadth of documentation requested was virtually impossible to acquire (e.g. written advice from airlines and eligibility assessments for compensation under EU regulations, familiarity with which I think is entirely unreasonable to expect of an Australian). Having spent hours collating everything the claim was refused because a fight cancellation due to "air traffic control restrictions" apparently does not fall within the provisions they cover. Would never have occurred to me in a pink fit that a cancelled flight (for any reason!) wouldn't be a valid reason to claim. Total waste of money."

"Earlier this year my partner and I travelled to Thailand and sadly on day 2 he suffered an acute stroke and ended up in ICU for 7 days and then a private room for a further 5 days in the Bangkok Hospital in Phuket. Understandably I had to pay for the initial admission until it could be confirmed whether it was a pre-existing condition. The amount that was 5 figures was deposited into my account within 14 days of the hospital discharge and this was less than half of the total bill which was covered in full. On top of that, Zoom reached out to ask if there were any out of pocket expenses… they covered our business class flights home as well as the additional accommodation I needed to be close to the hospital. I will only ever use Zoom again and I’ve told this story to many people. What was a dreadful health episode was made so much better with the treatment we got from Zoom Insurance."

"BEWARE OF THIS INSURANCE! I lost my phone and smart watch on the beach and tried to claim, but of course they had a clause in their policy where it says if you had lost personal belongings when it is NOT on your body that the policy would be voided. Go elsewhere for couple bucks more for piece of mind honestly!"

"Wish I had read the reviews before purchasing, but you get what you pay for! Absolute rip off company, take your money, you put a claim in and then they find a loophole on how to get out of it, rather use a decent company, not worth the paper they send you. After noticing your stuff is damaged you must miss your connection in order to report it to the airline. What a joke!"

"*** DO NOT USE *** Do not use Zoom travel insurance. They have a LOT of fine print and do not pay out. I travelled to Bali and had items stollen on the morning of departure. As I had to report the incident to the police I missed my flight and zoom did not pay out my flight changes Zoom provides a number for you to call but only for medical emergencies and not to call for non emergencies such as stolen items. Because I didn't call the medical emergencies only phone number for advice on stolen items they did not pay out Very disappointed! Also in regards to stolen items they only pay out a very small pro rata of the value of the item stolen DO NOT USE"
