About the Business
Welcome to Lyrebird Community Centre, located at 203 Lyrebird Drive in Carrum Downs, Australia. As an establishment and point of interest, we strive to meet the ever-changing needs of the Carrum Downs, Skye, and Sandhurst areas. Our goal is to bring our community together through new and exciting ideas.
At Lyrebird Community Centre, we offer a wide range of programs, activities, and opportunities for community-minded individuals of all ages. Whether you're looking for educational programs, computer classes, children's services, recreational activities, support groups, or information, we have something for everyone. As a not-for-profit, community-based organization, we are overseen by a diverse Board of Management comprised of dedicated volunteers.
Our Board of Management works closely with our Centre Manager to establish policies and procedures that ensure we provide viable programs that are relevant to the growing needs of our community. We are proud to be a part of the Frankston City Council and the South East Victorian Region of Adult Community and Further Education (ACFE). We are also a Learn Local Provider and our childcare services are licensed and approved for Childcare Subsidy.
We would like to acknowledge the support of Adult, Community, and Further Education (ACFE), the Victorian Government, and the Frankston City Council in helping us serve our community. Our mission is to provide a welcoming environment that promotes the well-being, harmony, cultural diversity, and inclusiveness of our community. We believe in lifelong learning, education, and skills development.
At Lyrebird Community Centre, we are committed to responding to the expressed needs of our community and making our programs affordable and accessible to all. We prioritize professional growth while staying true to our values. Our vision of "Bringing the Community Together" is achieved through our modern facility, diverse programs, and services that encourage a connected community.
Child safety is of utmost importance to us at Lyrebird Community Centre. We have implemented and abide by our Child Safe Policy, based on the Child Safe Standards in Victoria (2022). We have a zero-tolerance policy for child abuse and work to raise awareness about the importance of child safety within our center and the community. We are dedicated to protecting children from abuse and neglect and maintaining a child safe environment.
We promote cultural safety for Aboriginal children, children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds, and children with disabilities. Discriminatory practices are not tolerated, and we value diversity. Our employees undergo professional development to ensure they can identify and respond to situations of abuse and neglect, and we empower children to speak up and express their thoughts and concerns.
At Lyrebird Community Centre, we listen to and empower our community members, especially children, to act on any concerns they may have. Our policies and procedures reflect our commitment to keeping children safe. We are proud to be a part of our community's growth and look forward to building on the strengths within our community for a better future.
Join us at Lyrebird Community Centre and experience the rewarding and exciting opportunities we have to offer. Together, we can create a connected and thriving community.
