"It’s out of character for me to give negative reviews like this but I believe Wittner has a long way to go with the delivery of their customer service. As someone who has worked in customer service and now works as a consultant for a major consultancy to consult companies on how to uplift their customer strategy, I was honestly appalled by the customer service received. Never had I felt that embarrassed and speechless in front of staff and I’m usually quite empathetic to customer service staff given previous work experience. The event in question happened when I came in to return a pair of shoes that I had been informed prior to purchase that I could wear around at home and Wittner would be happy to take back for return if they didn’t fit comfortably. The pair in question were the last pair (at the time of purchase) and had been well worn around the store (as noted by both myself and the staff member serving me that day). When I came in to return, the first staff wasn’t sure whether she could take them back as they looked worn. I explained the situation and she continued to deny the return. I politely asked if I could speak to her manager instead and the manager came out refusing my request to return even as I explained that the shoes had already been quite worn when I had purchased them and I explained that I had not worn these outside of my house. I understand at this point it was just my words and there was no other way I could “prove” that the shoes had not been worn outside. The level of frustration I felt trying to essentially convince a group of three staff members (a third had joined at this point) that I was not lying felt humiliating. It’s not in my integrity to be dishonest about these things but I could sense that these ladies thought I was lying and the level of patronising received on my end felt belittling and unhelpful. In the end I emailed their customer service team who promptly followed up to direct my concerns to their regional manager. I followed up on two occasions and never heard back from their team. I am disappointed that such an established and well loved Australian brand had such poor customer experience management systems in place. In this day and age where customer experience, loyalty and trust are the quintessential drivers to a company’s growth it baffles a popular brand like Wittner is so behind. I have worked at Mecca prior to my current job and we frequently had customers return what we would perceive to be unsaleable items in the spirit of building customer loyalty and good customer experiences."

"Really bad service from the store manager, named Ricel I believe specifically. Rang head office to confirm prior to driving over an hour to this store as it was my nearest, to return a pair of shoes that I bought online and didn’t fit . They told me this would be an acceptable way to return and I didn’t need to bring original credit card used (as it wasn’t my own) to do this return in store as they can simply process it and it would refund to the card used on system online. The manager in broadway store kept refusing to do the return saying they can only do a refund return on PayPal or zip pay purchases , but not to my card?? . I explained I drive over an hour to this store & called head office to have this confirmed and she still persisted she cannot do it and she then did not want to assist any further. I asked her if she knew any other nearby stores so I could go there for them to help. She said they still won’t either apparently. I eventually left the store and called the Sydney George st store and spoke to Judy, who told me they would call broadway store manager to tell her she was in fact incorrect and should refund me/ process my return. Thank you to Judy for your excellent and understanding service to help me."
