"This, or perhaps used to be my go-to grocery store, however, they have just activated the infuriating weighing mechanism on the self-check-outs. I had a large number of items which didn't fit on the tiny platform and many times I had to call over the attendant to cancel the mechanisms complaint about bagging. All in all it was an unpleasant experience, probably for the attendant as well as me. These mechanisms are obviously aimed at stopping people stealing goods, however the this is done at the expense and convenience of everyone else. The self-checkouts exist only to save labour costs for the store and the new measures just add insult to injury. In future I will avoid the self checkouts."
"First Coles Local store in VIC. I still prefer the newest openings, but Foodie Hub has been one of the supermarket innovations I loved most in the store. Very good Barista coffee and I like the made-in-store Nut butter station."
"I love this new Coles Local. My subsequent visits have been just as good as my first. It has a calm, welcoming atmosphere, with helpful, friendly, staff who chat & seem happy to be there & happy to help. I'm still exploring the very interesting range of products & will definitely be back frequently. There are light, strong, plastic trolleys that even have a place for your coffee cup when you take advantage of the great barrista in store. Parking is excellent underneath the store, with 2 big lifts to take you right into the store upstairs."
"This review is based on first impressions, given the Coles Surrey Hills opened up just today. As expected its swanky new and smells fresh. Its moderately big, spacious and brightly lit. It has comfortable underground parking for at least 50 or cars I guess (not sure on numbers). Staff was friendly and was attentive and willing to help. The only reason I did not gave a 5* rating cause - 1. For the very first day, some of veggies & fruits seemed a bit stale 2. For day-1, I was expecting some promotions or some sort of introductory offers, which I didn't see."
