About the Business
Welcome to Blakehurst High School, a renowned secondary school located at 270A Woniora Road in Blakehurst, Australia. As an establishment and point of interest, we take pride in providing exceptional education to our students.
At Blakehurst High School, we understand that the period before the HSC exams can be a stressful time for students and their families. That's why we offer support and guidance to help our students navigate through this crucial phase. Our dedicated teachers and staff are committed to ensuring that every student receives the necessary resources and assistance to excel in their studies.
Education Week is an annual celebration in New South Wales that honors the achievements of our schools, teachers, and students. We are proud to participate in this event, showcasing the outstanding work happening within our school community. It is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our students and teachers.
The Department of Education has shared a draft plan for NSW public education, inviting parents and carers to provide valuable feedback. We encourage our school community to take part in this process, as your input is important to us.
We are excited to announce that Blakehurst High School will be hosting a Multicultural Day event on Friday, 1st September. This event aims to celebrate the diverse cultures and backgrounds within our school community. It will be a day filled with various activities, performances, cultural food stalls, and lots of fun! To make the event more convenient for everyone, we have introduced the Blakehurst dollar as the exclusive currency accepted on the day for purchasing food and culturally significant items. Students are encouraged to convert their cash to Blakehurst dollars, with a maximum limit of $15.00, starting from Wednesday, 16th August until 30th August. Online payment or payment through the front office is available. Please note that no refunds will be made, and any additional money required on the day can be obtained from the Blakehurst currency booth located in the print room.
We also offer study seminars for Year 12 English Advanced students, delivered by our trusted provider, Connect Education. These seminars are designed to enhance students' understanding and performance in English.
In addition, we organize exciting trips and excursions for our students. For example, we recently had a trip to the Zoo where dinner and breakfast were supplied. Students stopped at McDonald's for lunch on the way back to school, so they were advised to bring money for lunch. Comfortable, warm clothing and good walking shoes are recommended for these outings. Students are also advised to bring essential toiletries, sleeping bags, pillows, and other necessary items for overnight stays. Please note that there are no showers available during these trips, and students will have showers at home upon arrival.
We would like to take a moment to acknowledge and pay our respects to the traditional custodians of the land on which our school stands. We also extend our respect to Elders, both past and present.
