St Brendan's Catholic Primary School 30 Collins Street, Annandale, New South Wales 2038
About the Business
Welcome to St Brendan's Catholic Primary School, located in the heart of Annandale on Collins Street. As an establishment and point of interest, our primary school is dedicated to providing a nurturing and inclusive community for every child.
At St Brendan's, we pride ourselves on knowing each child personally, allowing us to tailor their learning experience to ensure they reach their full potential. Our passionate teachers work collaboratively to develop comprehensive learning pathways, while our close-knit community of parents and families is an integral part of our school's life.
As both a parent and an educator with over 27 years of experience, I understand the importance of creating a positive and enriching environment for children. Our motto, "Inspiring hearts and minds – one child at a time," reflects our commitment to fostering happiness and empowerment in our students. We want our children to feel cared for, enjoy learning, and develop strong relationships with their peers.
In addition to promoting happiness, we also strive to create a learning environment that supports each child in realizing their full potential. At St Brendan's, we embrace a growth mindset approach, encouraging students to adopt an attitude of "I can't do that, yet." This mindset underpins our teaching and learning philosophy, empowering students to overcome challenges and achieve success.
What sets St Brendan's apart as a school is our faith-centered community. Founded by the Sisters of St Joseph, with a mission inspired by St Mary of the Cross, MacKillop, we strive to "not see a need without doing something about it." This ethos of service and caring for one another is deeply embedded in our school's fabric.
Annandale itself is known for its village atmosphere and is often referred to as a "piece of the country in the city." Being a part of this community reinforces our commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive environment for all. We welcome not only Catholic families from Annandale but also students from all faiths and families from outside our area to become a part of our family.
St Brendan's Catholic Primary School has a rich history dating back to 1898 when it was opened by the Sisters of St Joseph. Over the years, we have continued to uphold our commitment to the person of Jesus Christ as the foundation of our school. We not only prioritize the education of each child but also strive to develop Christian values and encourage our students to live by them.
Our school pedagogy is underpinned by our Josephite tradition and core educational values. We value belonging, creating a connected and safe learning community where every person feels supported and confident. Success is celebrated at all levels, recognizing the importance of regular achievements for personal growth. Respect is at the core of our relationships, built on care, consideration, and trust.
St Brendan's Catholic Church, located at 34 Collins Street, Annandale, plays an integral role in nurturing spirituality and educating our students in Catholic traditions and practices. Our parish priest, Fr John Milliken, is actively involved in the Catholic education of each and every child.
We acknowledge and pay our respects to the traditional custodians of the land on which our schools and offices now stand, honoring the Elders past and present.
Join our wonderful community at St Brendan's Catholic Primary School and experience the difference of a school that prioritizes the happiness, growth, and values of every child. For more information, please visit our website at stbrendan.org.au or contact us at (02) 9550 3707 or [email protected].

Reviews
"Great school. We chose for the focus on performing arts over sports. But since 2017 the sports has had a focus to soccer, swimming, cricket. The school competes in inter school public speaking comp & dance and music Eistedfords. Our child was encouraged to grow & express herself. Principal Jo Bright and Father Matthew are real assets to the school & have made many progresses in recent years. Highly recommend."
"i didn't have the best time there but otherwise it was okay."
