About the Business
Welcome to Summer Hill Public School!
We are delighted to have you visit our school website. Summer Hill Public School is a primary school located on Moonbie Street in the beautiful suburb of Summer Hill, Australia. As an establishment and point of interest in the community, we take great pride in providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for our students.
One of the highlights of our school calendar is the annual BBQ breakfast celebrating the fathers and carers of our students. This event brings together our school community for a day filled with small-sided games and opportunities for everyone to participate in at least three games. It is a wonderful way to celebrate the important role that fathers and carers play in the lives of our students.
Another recent highlight was our Education Week celebration. Our students in classes 2 Slinky and 5 Wasabi took the lead in commemorating 175 years of public education. It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to showcase their talents and achievements, and we were incredibly proud of their efforts.
If you are a parent or caregiver looking for an engaging and educational activity to enjoy with your kids, we have something for you too! Our school offers activities for airport enthusiasts, providing a unique opportunity to explore and learn about the fascinating world of aviation.
At Summer Hill Public School, we are committed to recognizing and respecting the traditional custodians of the land on which our school stands. We also pay our respects to Elders, both past and present. We believe in promoting cultural awareness and understanding among our students.

"Loved it, loved my time here. Great school, fantastic staff who still ask my parents how my brother and I are (even though we were far from star students). Plus the fact it celebrates Wear It Purple day warms my heart so much, and definitely had a positive impact on my own identity's journey. And – now this is just chance of course, but it's still worth noting – I met my best and closest friends at this school. We grew together, hurt each other and healed each other. Survived hell and high-water together, and we're still going strong. Definitely recommend. :) – Student from Graduating Class of 2018"
"the yummy bears canteen was elite however they were REPLACED in 2019 or smth and naturally my year 4 self was HORRIFIED by this act of injustice, so i wrote a 4 minute long speech that would make grammarly cry. anyway they came back so 5/5 also music faculty was legendary ms chan and mrs ross hard carried and that other teacher that got abused by my year 6 class was cool too (jackie??) oc's were very sweaty about card games but very cool chill people (except when they weren't) produced some pretty cool kids (aiwei and connie go to rusey now, i'm one of the youngest ppl going to australian youth orchestra this year (you proud of me ms chan?), also a few auditioned kids at nhspa "
"Small school, facilities are worn and teachers pick their favourites. Not worth going just for the OC class based on recent results."
"I am currently in a HS and used to got this school (Year 6 2022). Last year). This school is really great with nice teaches and nice music programs! Mixed types of people!"
"A horrible school. Bathrooms - disgusting. Playground - filthy. Teachers - terrible. STUDENTS? Disgusting. My son went to this school and after only a couple days of being there he came home, bawling, blood trickling down his wrist. He had been bullied and harasssed by the demon-like Year 5's, no to mention his own peers! He never wanted to go to the school again. I requested to have a session talking with the principal, Miss Armstrong, but she said she was BUSY. This is a serious problem and PROPER school principals should care about the health and wellbeing of their students. Truly negligent. Parents should not be ignored! And I've yet to talk about the classrooms. They have remained the same since the 1920's. The working conditions for students are horrible. Cobwebs scattered everywhere. Mould growing on the windows. In some classrooms, there is not enough chairs for students as some of their WOODEN chairs are termite-ridden and missing whole legs. Truly atrocious. Before sending your child to this school, I reccomend thinking about how they will be treated, their health and their education. Highschools are better than this."
