Welcome to South Coogee Public School, a vibrant and inclusive primary school located in the beautiful suburb of South Coogee, Australia. Situated on Moverly Road, our school is a focal point of interest in the community, providing a nurturing and welcoming environment for students from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.

With a total of 22 classes, South Coogee Public School caters to a diverse student population. We are proud to have 34% of our students come from language backgrounds other than English, fostering a multicultural learning environment. Additionally, 10% of our students come from Australian Defence Force families, and we have a dedicated part-time Defence School Mentor to support them. Furthermore, 5% of our students identify as Indigenous Australians, and we are committed to honoring and celebrating their culture.

At South Coogee Public School, we prioritize Visible Learning practices in a restorative and resilient school environment. Our teachers and students are equipped with research-based strategies that promote effective learning. We believe in the power of visible learners who apply effective habits of thinking and doing, can explain and understand their progress, and know how to learn and seek feedback.

We are proud to be guided by the Visible Learning principles based on the research of John Hattie. Our goal is to have the biggest influence on learning, focusing on strategies that have been proven to have the strongest impact. All our classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards and computers, with an increasing emphasis on Technology for Learning.

As we operate on the traditional lands of the Aboriginal people, we pay our respects to the traditional custodians of the land and acknowledge the Elders, both past and present. We believe in fostering a deep understanding and appreciation of Indigenous culture among our students.
