About the Business
Welcome to Tempe High School, a prestigious secondary school located in the vibrant suburb of Tempe, Australia. As an establishment and point of interest, we pride ourselves on providing a high-quality education for our students.
At Tempe High School, we understand the stress that students and their families may experience during the period before the HSC exams. With a lot on their minds, including studying and future plans, we strive to create a supportive and nurturing environment that helps students thrive academically and emotionally.
As part of the NSW public education system, we are proud to participate in Education Week, an annual celebration that recognizes the achievements of our dedicated teachers, schools, and students. This event highlights the commitment of our institution to provide a well-rounded education that prepares students for success in their future endeavors.
We value the input of parents and carers in shaping the education experience at Tempe High School. The Department of Education has shared a draft plan for NSW public education, inviting parents and carers to share their valuable feedback. This collaborative approach ensures that we continuously improve and meet the needs of our students and the community.
We believe that attendance is crucial for academic success. Even a day away from school can have a significant impact on a student's learning journey. Therefore, we encourage all our students to prioritize regular attendance, as it sets the foundation for their educational growth and development.
Tempe High School is a registered CRICOS provider, ensuring that international students receive a high-quality education in a supportive and inclusive environment. As a part of our commitment to reconciliation, we pay our respects to the traditional custodians of the land, the Gadigal people, and acknowledge the wisdom of Elders, both past and present.

"I once saw a teacher bite a year 7 in the hallway outside the art rooms"
"Cares more about the uniform than it’s students"
"The science faculty in this school are unethically cloning undergraduates of other schools"
"Great school. Teachers, students and management are putting efforts to make school better. Community and families should do more to support school. Please don't send negative comments about uniform policy or stuff. It is not helpful. Thank you for being considerate."
"Genuinely a decent school, but there are some underlying issues. To be unbiased, I will list both pros and cons. Attended over 10 years ago for my entire High School period. Pros - HSIE department is the most consistent and, in my opinion, best department. Heralded by the late Mr Gary Carmichael, the staff members are enthusiastic, knowledgeable and, for some, over-qualified for the role (this is not a bad thing) - Mathematics department is generally good and dependable. There have been some questionable staff from my experience, but they have been filtered out over the years or moved on to other schools. - Have experienced no issues with the Science or PE departments - There is a decent Selective stream and Gifted & Talented class Cons - During my time at the school, there was clear favouritism and bias from some teachers. At times this unfairly affected my marks without supporting evidence or due process from the teacher - Partly due to the point above, there is also a significant amount of bullying which is unaddressed - Do not feel the current Principal correctly approaches problems with students. At one point, the Principal addressed blame to parents during a school assembly many years ago which is an unfair approach and may not address underlying problems - Principal strongly focused on perception management"
