Mount St Joseph Catholic College was established in 1960 to meet the growing need for a Catholic girls' secondary school in south-western Sydney. Our foundation is rooted in the spirit of Mary MacKillop, Australia's first saint, who dedicated her life to meeting the needs of her time.

Mary MacKillop co-founded the Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart with Father Julian Tenison Woods, and together they established the first St Joseph's school in 1866 in Penola, South Australia. The Order quickly expanded, providing education and care in both rural and urban areas.

Today, the Sisters of St Joseph continue their mission in Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Peru, East Timor, Scotland, and Brazil. In 1959, the search for a suitable site for a new girls' high school led to the purchase of the land where our school now stands. Since 2013, the administration of the school has been handed over to Sydney Catholic Schools, who continue to guide us in innovative directions while preserving our rich charism.

At Mount St Joseph Catholic College, we embody the spirit of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop through the education of girls from diverse backgrounds and abilities. Our dedicated teachers provide a supportive environment where students can grow and develop, guided by Jesus' vision for living.

Mount St Joseph Catholic College is closely connected with the local parish of St Luke's Revesby, led by Rev Tadeusz Seremet. Our students actively participate in various ministries and regularly join in parish celebrations.
