Welcome to the HIV/AIDS Legal Centre (HALC), located in Surry Hills, Australia. As a specialist community legal centre, we are dedicated to providing free and comprehensive legal assistance to individuals in New South Wales (NSW) who are facing HIV or Hepatitis-related legal matters.

At HALC, we understand the unique challenges and discrimination that individuals living with HIV face on a daily basis. Our team of experienced lawyers and paralegals work tirelessly to ensure that our clients have access to the legal support they need. In addition to our legal services, HALC also offers volunteer placements for law students, particularly those who are undertaking their practical legal training (PLT) requirement prior to admission as a legal practitioner. Community Legal Education and Law Reform are integral components of our mission. We actively engage in raising awareness and advocating for the rights of individuals affected by HIV and Hepatitis.
