Rivendell School Hospital Road, Concord West, New South Wales 2138

Welcome to Rivendell School, a unique institution located in Concord West, Australia. Situated within the historic Thomas Walker Estate, our school is part of a joint NSW Ministry of Health and Department of Education facility. We share the site with the Rivendell Child, Adolescent and Family Mental Health Service, creating a supportive and holistic environment for our students.

At Rivendell School, we provide the educational component for students admitted to the Yaralla and Lawson programs of the Rivendell Adolescent Mental Health Unit. In addition, we have two Department of Education programs specifically designed for students with emotional disorders. The Paterson program caters to students in Years 9 and 10, while the Sulman program serves students in Years 11 and 12.

To ensure accessibility and convenience, we have two learning centers located off-site. One is situated within the Walker Adolescent High Severity Psychiatric Unit in the Concord Centre for Mental Health. The other learning center is at Gna Ka Lun Acute Adolescent Mental Health Unit attached to Campbelltown Hospital. These centers provide a supportive and inclusive environment for students to thrive academically.

As we reflect on the past terms, we extend our gratitude to the Rivendell School community for their unwavering support. The Student Representative Council (SRC) would like to express their appreciation for the collective efforts that have made this year a success.

We would also like to take a moment to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which Rivendell School stands, the Wangal people. The Wangal Clan, part of the Eora Nation, were one of the first Aboriginal people to encounter British settlers. Concord, where our school is located, was an important meeting place for the Wangal Clan. We pay our respects to the Elders, both past, such as Bennelong, and present, as well as all Aboriginal people of this land.
