Welcome to Collaroy Plateau Community Kindergarten – your local Community Based Kindergarten/Preschool. Located in the beautiful Collaroy Plateau on Sydney's Northern Beaches, our institution is a point of interest and a school that offers a unique learning environment for children aged 3.5 - 5 years.

As an institution, we understand the importance of acknowledging and respecting the values and customs of the First Nations people, who are the traditional custodians of the land upon which Collaroy Plateau Community Kindergarten is situated. We pay our respects to the elders, both past and present, and welcome all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to our Preschool.

At CPCK, we embrace diversity and strive to develop an awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal history and culture, as well as the many cultures found within our preschool community. We believe that this strengthens and enriches the lives of our children and the entire community.

Our preschool follows a play-based, child-initiated curriculum that takes place across three key environments - a social environment that fosters a strong sense of community and belonging, an emotional environment that is nurturing, and a physical environment that is natural and inspiring.

As a community-managed, not-for-profit service, CPCK offers care and learning under a unique service delivery model. This community management approach allows for child-centered decision making that reflects the values and needs of the local community. We prioritize building strong connections with families and nurturing relationships and networks that support children through their transition to school and society.

With over 60 years of history caring for Northern Beaches preschoolers, CPCK has become a vital part of the local community. Many families have had multiple generations attend our preschool, creating a strong sense of belonging and continuity.

Our experienced, passionate, energetic, and dedicated teachers provide a stable and nurturing environment for our children. With consistent attendance on the same days each week, children have the opportunity to develop meaningful relationships with their classmates and teachers. This social context enables them to grow their sense of belonging, independence, and ownership of their learning.

We offer two-day and three-day programs for children aged 3.5 - 5 years at our location on Hall Avenue, Collaroy Plateau. Applying to our preschool is free and can be done online. We invite families to visit us and experience firsthand the unique learning environment we have created.

Conveniently located on the L80/180 bus route, with a bus stop at the front of the preschool, we are easily accessible for those without a car traveling from the city, Dee Why, or anywhere on Collaroy Plateau. Street parking is also available.

We would like to express our gratitude to the Northern Beaches Council for their continued support in providing us with the preschool building premises and property. Our partnership with the council allows us to uphold a long-standing community service that has been providing preschool education and care to the local community since 1954.

Collaroy Plateau Community Kindergarten acknowledges that we are located on the land of the First Nations people, possibly the Gayamaygal clan. We recognize that due to displacement and the hiding of their culture, their history has been lost. We sincerely pay our respects to the past, present, and future elders and ancestors of the Gayamygal clan and share our sorrow about such painful history. We pledge to stand together with respect and the common goal of protecting the land and all of its inhabitants.
