"I have to say it not bad for me to eat here as a family. the service was not bad but can be extremely busy and noisy with the people coming to eat so getting a waiter/ waitress attention can be difficult but if can is good . beside that the food was tasty for me and the price can be okay. just remembered that on the weekend is a surcharge of 10% that's the only problem with it beside best to book ahead as dinner time can be a lot of people who had ore book a spot already."
"Went there on the weekend for yum cha. Probably the only place near the west that does decent yum cha. It does get very crowded for yum cha and parking can be difficult to find so better to plan ahead. The steamed dumplings and sui mai were awesome, the black bean pork ribs were a bit tough, the cheung fun noodles were a bit too thick for my preference. Overall good atmosphere and I did get my yum cha fix and beats driving into the city."
"Bluntly, not the most enjoyable meal. We were sat essentially along the main corridor for diners, which meant we were constantly surrounded by moving people/wait staff. It was noisy and busy. The food was okay, but not outstanding flavour wise. The most annoying moment was when a waiter was standing directly behind clicking his pen incessantly. The cashier didn't smile or ask if we enjoyed the meal. It's probably good for large groups but not a place I am likely to revisit."
"I recently visited Gold Leaf restaurant in Sunshine for a Mother's Day dinner with the family. I used to frequent this place for their lunchtime yum cha, so going for dinner was a different experience. One thing that struck me as odd was the number of staff who seemed to be just standing around. Apparently, they had a separate team to take orders, and we ended up waiting a good while to place ours. That felt a bit awkward and inefficient. The price of the food was another eyebrow-raiser, especially for the veggies. We ordered a plate of mixed stir-fried vegetables, and it cost us almost 30 bucks! It felt a bit steep, to be honest. The other dishes we tried like the salt and pepper pork cutlets, pipi clams in XO sauce, and the stir-fried beef were just okay. They were pretty standard fare for a Chinese restaurant, nothing to get excited about. Another thing that baffled me was how the staff offered to replace our plates and bowls towards the end of our meal. I found that to be unnecessary - it seemed like extra work for the staff and more stuff to clean. Also, the glasses and jugs our coke came in were pretty worn out. There were a bunch of scratches, and one of the glasses even had a chip in the rim. It's high time they refreshed their tableware, I reckon. All in all, my experience at Gold Leaf wasn't really up to par. The food tasted average at best, and it was pricey. Plus, it didn't offer anything different or unique compared to other places in the area. I hate to say it, but I didn't enjoy this visit as much as I thought I would."
