About the Business
Welcome to Impresario Theatre, located at 5 Grant Street in Bacchus Marsh, Australia. Originally named 'Landsberg Hall' by its proprietor, George Muir, this historic establishment has a rich history in the performing arts.
For eleven years, the theatre operated as an Old Time Dance Hall and Tivoli motion picture theatre. In 1938, it was sold to Sunshine Pictures Ltd and reopened as the Astor Theatre, boasting a seating capacity of 450. The last screening at the Astor Theatre, 'Tarzan Goes to India', took place on February 22nd, 1964.
In March 2006, Mai Pyin and JohnPaul, Directors of PAHQ, purchased this iconic landmark and embarked on an ambitious renovation project. The result is a fully equipped studio and theatre space designed specifically for the tuition and staging of the performing arts.
Impresario Theatre, with a seating capacity of 350, features a sprung wooden floor ideal for dance, mirrors, ballet barres used by the Australian Ballet, a Drama & Dance Studio/Stage Area, backstage area, dressing rooms, and Instrumental Tuition Rooms equipped with upright pianos, sound systems, and music stands. The theatre also boasts a large elegant foyer, box office, kiosk, and well-appointed amenities for both ladies and gentlemen. It truly is an exceptional venue for students, performers, and audience members alike.
Impresario Theatre is the home of all PAHQ's AfterSchool Music, Dance & Drama lessons, Annual Musical Theatre Community Theatre Productions, and the Music, Dance & Drama Mid-Year Festival. What better place to learn and showcase your talents than a purpose-built theatre with such local and historical significance?
We invite you to join us at Impresario Theatre, where the magic of the performing arts comes to life in a venue steeped in history and dedicated to nurturing talent. We look forward to welcoming you to our vibrant community of artists, performers, and arts enthusiasts.

"As always a fantastic place to go"
"Our communities theatre is about to entertain us with the spectacular musical "WE WILL ROCK YOU" by Queen and Ben Elton. Not only is this production a great family night out but it incorporates our towns talented young people. We are an extremely lucky town to have its own theatre and some very talented teachers to train and assist others who want to be involved in the performing arts. Now Why Cant Our Local Shire also Appreciate this. On Saturday whilst going to our local shops in main street. I witnessed instruments and sound equipment being set up and also young people standing around with signaged jackets. I enquired to a lady what it was about. She informed me of the oncoming concert and said they were going to do a bit of singing from the show. I asked if there were leaflets and she stated that the council would not allow them to pass around. I am disgusted. Something that keeps our young ones interested in the arts. Not out causing trouble but doing something truly worthwhile. You Are A Disgrace Moorabool Shire .Does This Mean There Will Be No Political Pamphlets Handed Out On The Streets Next Voting Session."
"Expensive."
