"I've been going here for at least a decade. Great fresh fish, great chips. The lovely guys who served us gave us two or three extra calamari rings. Best fish and chip shop I've ever been to. Cute shop, always clean and tidy, parking is great. What more could you want?"
"Best chips on the bellarine! Fish is fresh and batter is delish."
"Drove down from melbourne to try “Victoria’s best fish and chips”. Fantastic service all round, fish and chips are ok but certainly not the best in Victoria. Worth a visit to find out for yourself, long waiting times so plan ahead :)"
"Recently I had been in search of some above and beyond fish and chips. This venue apparently has THE BEST in Victoria. Naturally I said I need to try it as the sign says the best. First of all, there are some MUST DO’s: Either A.) call 30 minutes ahead of your order to have it ready at the time of arrival OR B.) read the signage and be mindful that the wait time is 30 minutes. This is not a big ask for the best fish and chips in Melbourne. Do not say you weren’t advised as it does say so on the signage unless you are unable to read, the staff will advise you in advance which is a courtesy. They have a lot of customers at the luncheon hour. So call ahead and it’s 30 minutes till it’s ready. When I arrived it was lunch time, I put my order in for 1 fried flake and the gentlemen behind the counter suggested the local freshly caught in the morning whiting fish, to which I said I’ll have that ASWELL as the flake because, why not have both? I departed and took a nice 25 minute stroll around the neighbourhood after the man advised of the 30 minute wait. You can pop into a few of the general stores if you life. Very lovely By the time I was done having my stroll I sat down to an empty table with my partner and had a lovely Greek salad from the venue as an entree. Very fresh and tasty! Chilled perfectly. And within moments of the salad being finished I heard the boys in the store call 31(MY NUMBER) I ran to fetch the beautiful fish, sat back down with my partner, opened up the parcel to find some perfectly cooked flake and whiting! Piping hot, crispy batter, lightly but perfectly salted with a side of lemon. The flavour was on point! The temperature perfect! Beautiful flake, light and delicious dripping with lemon juice! The whiting was delicious also! Fantastic job boys! Well done, keep making summer memorable for the people. This is the fish and chips I’d had as a child from many venues run by European families around Melbourne! You know that quality from 15 years ago. Perfectly cooked! Rarely can you find fish made this way anymore. This meal brought back memories. (I’d also recommend that if you are a large group visiting for the day and require more than 5 peoples worth of food, give these guys a heads up in the morning about the time so they can prepare way ahead of time because they have a lot of people show up on the spot I noticed making orders for huge groups. Be courteous to others around you. Plan ahead)"
"Drove 2 hours from mine just to try Victoria's best fish and chip shop and it did not disappoint. We had a gummy, prawns, calamari and scallops paired with their homemade tartar sauce. Also had full crayfish salad which was meaty and fresh for $45. Their batter was what made it different to other fish and chip shops. A bit soggy though. Wait times were a bit long and you really had to pay attention when waiting for your order to be called outside. Other than that, most people eat at the park across from the shop and it's literally a stone throw away from the beach. Heaps of free parking nearby. Beware of the seagulls. I think the seagulls outnumbered the people in Queenscliff that day. I would recommend a visit if you're in the Geelong area."
