Welcome to The Australian Improv (Comedy Theatre) Festival, located in Chippendale, Cleveland Street. As an establishment and point of interest, we are proud to bring you a unique and exciting experience in the world of improv comedy.

Due to the challenges posed by Covid-19, the AIF 2020 and 2021 have been postponed. However, we eagerly anticipate seeing you in 2022. In the meantime, we invite you to satisfy your improv comedy cravings at Laugh-Masters Academy. Join us for weekly shows, free intro classes, and regular term improv comedy classes.

At the festival, you will have the opportunity to acquire new superpowers through our workshops held at the NSW Teachers Federation Conference Centre in Surry Hills. These workshops will empower you to unleash your creativity and spontaneity.

Prepare to be entertained by hilarious local and international acts at the renowned Factory Theatre in Marrickville, Sydney. Each show is a one-of-a-kind experience, never to be seen or repeated again. Our trained performers will astound you as they spontaneously create characters, dialogue, and an entire show using your suggestions or stories as inspiration.

Improv comedy theatre is so much more than what you may have seen on shows like Whose Line is it Anyway, Thank God You’re Here, or TheatreSports. It is an art form that has launched the careers of many of your favorite funny people, including Tina Fey, Steve Carell, Amy Poehler, and Will Ferrell.
