Welcome to the South Sligo Summer School of Music, Song & Dance, located in Tobercurry, Co. Sligo, Ireland. Our institution is dedicated to promoting Irish traditional music, song and dance through a week-long teaching program that takes place every summer in the stunning setting of South Sligo.

Our program draws together students, teachers and enthusiasts from around the world to study traditional Irish music, song and dance. The school has a proud tradition of excellence in teaching, with tutors who are internationally recognised musicians, singers and dancers. Our classes cover a wide range of instruments and styles, including fiddle, flute, banjo, bodhrán, guitar, singing and sean-nós dancing, among others.

Our students have the opportunity to work closely with our expert faculty in a welcoming and collaborative environment. Our classes emphasise the importance of learning and sharing Irish traditional music, song and dance, as well as the rich cultural heritage that surrounds these art forms. With a focus on traditional teaching methods, we aim to preserve and pass on the skills and knowledge that have been handed down across generations.

But it’s not all hard work! The South Sligo Summer School of Music, Song & Dance also offers a fantastic social programme that brings together students and faculty to enjoy informal sessions, concerts and ceilis. Our nightly sessions, held in local pubs and venues, give students the chance to play, sing and dance with their new friends and tutors.
