"Had a couple of nights here with my son. Ate in the hotel both nights, food was top notch, both of us were delighted. The hotel is spotless and nicely decorated, our room was very comfortable. The staff though made the trip. So friendly and attentive, and genuinely friendly people. Loved it. Will be back for sure."

"As a child, my parents took us here often and the food and service was always impeccable. My last visit, October 2022, was a very disappointing lunch with a medium rare steak sandwich arriving very well done and chips overcooked. My companion's meal, goujons and chips, were also overcooked. Mentioning this, we got an apology but there was no effort to rectify and it was an expensive bad meal after an hour's drive to go there specially. I didn't review at the time as I figured it must be a once off. Tonight, home from the UK for my Mum's birthday, we had a delicious meal from starters straight through to desserts. The only small complaint with regards the food is that the mains were a bit cold but everything was delicious. However, from the moment we sat down, we were rushed. When we received each course, a tall gentleman serving tables repeatedly came up to the table to check if we were done, even stopping to ask at one point when my Mum was still eating. The moment she took her last bite of each course. he was upon us clearing. We felt very uncomfortable and frankly like an inconvenience. We then wanted to let our food settle before ordering dessert. The place was quiet and there was no demand for our table. But we were told staff were tired and needed to be let go home so we needed to order. This same gentleman then stood over us waiting for a dessert order. It was completely unnecessary and incredibly disappointing after travelling some way to go here again. I didn't say anything at the time as it would have further soured a special occasion, however I'm certain our disappointment was apparent to this gentleman. We won't be rushing back again."

"Extremely disappointing on this occasion. Was expecting a high standard as we have eaten here before. Unfortunately it started with service being very poor. Then an hour wait on food. Very little on menu was available. The two steaks that were left on the menu were overcooked. Salad was a very poor effort. Could not recommend."

"Delayed driving in the fog and delighted to find I was at the doorstep to Keenan’s -who I am a great fan of and had many good meal experiences previously. But not so this time. Went for the Battered Haddock - only to be disappointed with the minnow sized fish portion and chips hard enough to crack your teeth. Disappointing to say the least and advised them accordingly. Not their usual standard b However willing to give them another chance."

"The hotel is stunning! Interior design has been completed with taste and sophistication. Annette was the most wonderful host as was her son who delivered the most fabulous breakfast. The location is perfect with lots of lovely walks on your doorstep including the river outside the front door. I cannot wait to return especially when restrictions are eased."
