"We wanted to go on a farm retreat, very far away from the noise of the city, and I think the stay was perfect for that. (The WLAN was very quick though). The breakfast was more than generous, and the fact that I am a vegetarian was absolutely accepted and I was treated with a lot of respect, we even got homemade jam and figs from the garden. As a non-smoker, I am actually glad they really stick to a non-smoking policy, because I don't want to inhale poison on my vacation. The bed was very big and comfortable. The only two-three minor things, and I am talking about the rare days where it gets really hot: the shower was really hot and no cold water available, there could also maybe have been a fan and an extra toilet roll been made available. In general, it was great value for money and there are many things to explore within an hour's drive, plus plenty of eateries. They had a couple of dogs and cats, it was nice to pet them."
"This interesting and generous family hosted us on their lovely small farm during our genealogical trip in County Roscommon. They welcomed us like part of the family and everything about their fabulous location and lovely farm is inviting. We especially enjoyed exchanging stories with various members of the family."
"A fantastic stay at Little Flock Farm. Very accommodating and helpful hosts. Would strongly recommend."
"Stayed for two nights while on a fishing trip. Waldo and Jirka are the most welcoming and charming hosts that one could find. Breakfast was excellent, with eggs from their own hens. Jirka's goats supply the milk for ice cream and goats cheese, that are the best I've eaten. My room was lovely, spotless and quiet, with a very comfortable bed. They have a fantastic kitchen garden with an amazing greenhouse. I look forward to returning and it will be my go to accommodation during trips to Lough Ree."
"We had a lovely couple of days in late September at Little Flock Farm bed and breakfast. Waldo and Jirka Heudens are among the nicest, kindest and brightest people you will encounter. Their Little Flock Farm is in a very serene spot and interacting with the animals makes it all the more peaceful. The world famous goat's milk ice cream that Jirka makes is outstanding and is not so easy to eat when driving. Take my word! They are located very near Lough Ree which we had no experience with before arriving. Actually, Lough Ree was why we went to that area as we were interested in its location as nearby the geographical center or the island of Ireland (26+6) and its reputed beauty. Well, I can tell you it is beautiful and huge. I was at the end of a pier peering off into the lake and it looked immense (reminded me of looking at Lake Michigan in US, but it couldn't be that size, could it? Big big, nevertheless) and beauteous. So, summing up our brief Little Flock Farm experience goes like this: Lovely people, sweet little place, very good ice cream, for us city folk, the animals, Lough Ree spectacular, we would love to visit again, 2020? (if it is God's will) area pacific and Roscommon town has as many stores and bustle as NYC (slight exaggeration). Go with kindness and love in your heart. You will get an abundance in return. Basta."
