"One of the best places we've stayed at during our travels through Ireland. The room was clean, spacious and the bathroom/shower was large compared to a lot of hotels you come across. There was plenty of outlets and a mini fridge and the continental breakfast was great. The grounds were beautiful and the service we received from time of reception to when we left by Jackie and Andy was amazing! 10/10! Definitely coming back."
"My husband Kevin and I stayed here 2 weeks ago. It was such a beautiful place to stay the room was fabulous. The breakfast was delicious. Not to mention the Manager who was so friendly and chatty to us. Just a wonderful experience in an amazing location. The tranquility was lovely. Felt so relaxed here. Highly recommended."
"I stayed here (in the house accommodation) while attending a wedding at Markree Castle. Reception was closed on my arrival at about 4pm. A young girl turned up fairly promptly and seemed to be handing things as if it was her first week in the job. The room was pleasant enough. A few bits were amiss in the bathroom, no bath mat, a difficult handle for flushing the toilet, hair in the bath that did not belong to me and other small things I can't remember. I never did figure out how to use the shower. Oh yes and the bath plug worked but was broken. The accommodation notes said there was wifi, a phone and a tv in the room. You couldn't plug in a USB cable to recharge a phone and I didn't have a plug. On asking was I not looking in the right place for the items described in the notes I was told my room didn't have any of these items. Eventually the young girl gave me a wifi code but left me with a distinct impression it was not included in my accommodation. When I went to discuss it with the owner he said if I wasn't happy I could move. As I had a wedding to go to I backed down realising that criticism was not entertained in this establishment. It was a like it or lump it attitude. I found out on my second morning from other guests that there was breakfast available. Of course on my first morning there was no one round to ask so I went elsewhere for it. Handy for a wedding at the Castle and pleasant enough although lacking in amenities and don't expect any treatment you would normally get in accommodation of a similar price."
"Very nice venue and great value for money. Continental breakfast was amazing. A special mention to Anne who very accommodating and looked after us so well and is brilliant craic."
"Just spent my weekend in Sligo and the hotel managed by Anthony made it really special. Beautiful property, cleverly restored, close to the castle. Our room was fabulous, great attention to detail, great breakfast, beautiful garden strongly recommend this hotel, what an amazing stay!!!"
