"Very helpful and professional staff plus a great service and choice for children."
"Great service and staff."
"Recently, Children were given Carambola water bottles which does not come with caps... which i feel is unhygienic and not good for school children."
"One star added because this company acknowledges that parents are not happy with the shrinking options since September. They visited some schools, and hopefully the food improves, as promised, after Easter. I volunteer at a school, and I asked what the children like about their lunches. The yoghurt tube seems to be the most popular item. The kids had no interest in the popcorn, pancakes, rice cakes and scones with no sugar/salt/anything to enhance them. I've tried them in the lunchroom, and I can't blame them! There are no drinks with lunches, although they advertise still water, fresh milk, orange aqua juice, apple aqua juice. White sliced bread is only available twice a week, although crackers, baps and rolls made with white flour are abundant. Breadsticks and rice cakes (processed carbs) are available every day. Plain pasta is on the menu. Why not have pasta with chesse, as cheese is a daily option for sandwiches? Ham was limited to one day a week, but it seems this restriction has been lifted recently. Butter is not an option, only 'spread'. (With 10+ ingredients.) The chicken tikka has MSG and the artificial sweetener aspartame. The bananas are never ripe, so the fresh fruit options are apple, satsuma or carrot sticks. Why not offer mini cucumbers, sugar snap peas, diced watermelon, strawberries, baby tomatoes, grapes? I understand that it is difficult to provide foods under government guidelines that tick all the boxes. However, the edible offerings available from this company had dwindled so greatly this year, that many parents preferred to send a lunch with their child, whatever the cost. I hope Carambola can find a way to provide a healthy lunch that is palatable for the children. Expanding the fruit and veg options would make a huge impact on the health of less privileged children in Ireland..."
"Sandwiches no good, dry and taistless."
