"Life happens, however if life hit you a little too hard I couldn't recommend a better place than peace inside. Eoin professionalism, humanity and care is like being wrapped in a safety blanket. He genuinely care for you to get better and is your personal cheerleader holding your hand each step of the way until you are able to walk by yourself again. "Could not recommend a better service to support someone on their journey through therapy... Deciding to enter into therapy and seek treatment often comes with severe trepidation. It’s only after 18 months of psychotherapy I’ve discovered that it’s a decision that derives from self-love, rather than the fear of losing something in one’s life. I deserve to implement the skills and tools acquired in therapy to improve my quality of life because I’m worthy of it; not that I should just employ such tools to simply make me a less destructive/more desirable person to be around for other peoples’ sakes. Eoin and Peace Inside fostered that momentous change within me. I could harp on about the initial awkward silences, the uncensored rantings, the little personal triumphs, the two-steps-forward, three-steps-back nature of the work (because that’s how it transpired some weeks), but throughout all the sessions I was never judged on my level of progress, or my unwillingness to divulge certain things too soon. The wonderful thing about Eoin and this service is the patience, gentleness and respect that’s given to you and your boundaries. I had sought out treatment before coming to Peace Inside, but never felt comfortable enough in the space/with the therapist to be candid and honest: as a result, I never saw the changes I was hoping for within myself. I put myself down for not getting any better, rather than accepting it was simply the environment that wasn’t suitable. Eoin recognised this apprehension in me and was accommodating and attentive. He created a space that was professional but warm and appreciated the difficulties I had with trust and opening up, especially in the beginning. One of the biggest misconceptions I had about therapy was assuming that airing a certain topic/issue meant I’d have to tackle it head on over the next 50 minutes, which sometimes stopped me from speaking my mind. But at Peace Inside, the client can lead the topic of discussion in the session: just because something is verbalised in the space doesn’t mean you’re obliged to unravel it there and then if you’re not ready. Another misconception I’d had was believing that overall, therapy would be a bleak but necessary experience, like an old band aid that would just have to be ripped off. And for the most part, it was very difficult to talk about things that were painful, but I was surprised by how many tender, light-hearted moments and accomplishments that were also experienced and celebrated along the way. If someone is considering therapy, I’d commend the courage and self-compassion that it takes, but I’d also acknowledge the trepidation and fear that comes with the possibility of broaching what’s difficult to articulate/comprehend. Entering into therapy is a contract and requires intensive work, but it’s work that’s assuredly worth it. If that someone is deliberating on whether or not to go with Peace Inside, I could not recommend a better service to accompany and support them on this journey. I was a client who was also LGBT+, and while this wasn’t the primary reason for coming to therapy, certain issues pertaining to it inevitably arose in the sessions. Eoin was extremely sensitive to and aware of this aspect of identities and relationships - and I’d have every confidence in his expertise and manner that he could counsel someone who’s experiencing issues relating to said field. There will never be enough words to adequately thank Eoin and Peace Inside for everything they’ve done in getting me to where I currently am. How I now view myself, and my responses to situations and interactions in my daily life are a testament to how dedicated they are in helping a client become the best (and most grounded) version of themselves."
