"I bought a polytunnel from glanbia mountmellick because last week the sales staff highly recommended it and said they never had a bad complaint about the manufacturing quality of that particular polytunnel from any previous customers in the past four years. Great says I, so I went and bought one. I set the structure in cement as recommended, I also set the polythene material also in cement and i chose a particularly protected area from the prevailing wind. I also staked the tie downs. I realised this isnt a great set up as the polythene was a loose cover, made to fit over the light hollow bars. There was no stretching for strength, as in a professional polytunnel. Within 4 hrs, the polythene was seen to be a little loose, flapping in the wind more than hrs previous, even though it was cemented in. Next morning, polythene ripped out and torn due to tie downs. It was destroyed. I had spent days setting up this area and making the furniture for this particular size. I went back to the manager in glanbia mountmellick. He was extremely unhelpful in any way. He surprised me by stating, what did you expect, you bought the cheapest one here. He said that the wont do anything for me as its wind damage. He also contradicted himself by saying in the four years he worked as manager here, none of the 100's of customers he has sold them too have come back with a complaint! I do not believe he should hold the position he us in. I had packed the entire item into the boot of my car and showed him the receipts and photos of what had happened. He didnt care. I asked him to at least stop selling them to other customers, he said no, that he will continue to sell them... I cannot recommend anybody to deal with this place. Regards NE"
