"I like the store and product range but I don’t like price manipulation some employees do. Be aware they might overprice your. I’d give them one star, but not everything is bad there. I always respect and support family businesses. And Cooneys builder providers range is a good addition to the north west Roscommon area. However, I absolutely do not support price manipulation at the spot. This is very dishonest and unfair. I am a DIYer and I do not have anyone to pass the cost of materials on. When I’ve been sold material for one price and a few weeks later from exact the same pile(not restocked or imported, exact the same pile of timber covered in dust) i’ve been given a cost of 40% more. That’s simply a dishonest ripoff. I am aware the timber prices went up. But that’s only for the new coming in timber, not the one you stocked many and many month ago, before the global price increase. You cannot use it as an excuse to rip people off, especially small DIYers and when a week earlier you sold it for 40% less. It’s atrocious and bad business lads. I’ll be looking for materials elsewhere from now on."
"Best place to buy timber for all DIY projects and professional use. I made many things with materials purchased here...and always!! Gentelmans from there were always available to assist me and advice to find most suitable timber, screws etc, help to measure, hold, cut and stack. I'm very grateful to them for all the time and kindness staff always show to their customers. Prices are good, delivery is affordable and quick within day or two. I highly recommend that store to everyone!"
