"Yesterday I left this post office stunned and upset by the treatment from a member of staff. I dont normally use this post office, but I was in the area. I had my 2 children 7 and 9 with me.We all wore face masks and as we entered the 3 of us used the hand gel. The children were discussing hand gel and looking at the birthday cards when the counter next to them became available. I approached it and watched as a man behind the counter shouted across at my children yelling ' hey, get away from there'. I said dont shout at them they are only looking, they are not in anyones way, you can tell me and I'll call tell them your not happy. He then proceeded to insult me, commenting on my parenting skills. I told him they are only children they are touching nothing , they are doing nothing wrong, to which he responded ' I don't care, I don't care they are children, I dont care '. I called my children to me, who at this stage were stunned by this horrible man shouting at them. I told him dont speak to us that way, this he responded to by saying ' shut up about it, now that do you want'. This man works in a post office that serves a community. How he is working there is beyond me. He contributes nothing to society obviously, expect disdain and unpleasantness. I left without what I needed, stunned and upset. I managed to hold my tears until I got home. I work as a pre school teacher and have 2 wonderful children of my own who make this world a better place. They are good children, they are all good children and I feel so disheartened that no matter how good they are or how well we will bring all these children up in society, no matter how much I teach my students social norms and how to make a difference, they will always battle against people like him. I will never darken mallow town again. If this is the kind of person who resides there ."
"This is the New Post office Named Ballydaheen which is set on the Bellevue SuperValu (Danos) shopping Centre site. The old Ballydaheen post office used to be on Ballydaheen Road is closed."
