"Went to voodoo cork last night to experience a cork night out. I do not drink but I wanted to experience the buzz that was about the town I went to the front of the line with my 2 friends that were accompanying the bouncer at the front was about 25 with a beard and brown hair was extremely rude and told me there was no way I was getting in"
"Do not go here if you're from Dublin as you will be basically laughed at, at the door. Table booked well in advance, everything discussed with the manager for 2 booths booked and on the night still weren't allowed in. Even lads well over 23 and not drunk coming back an hour later and reasonable with the 3 lads on the door were told "lads already had this conversation you were refused already you're with the Dublin party we have a right to refuse anyone we want". Worst attitudes ever on a door and we couldn't have been more reasonable or polite about it - stereotypical bouncers abusing power and discriminating against us because we are from Dublin "typical dubs" mentioned at one point. Stay away from here at all costs I would advise, if you're not from Cork and ESPECIALLY if you're from Dublin. Also don't bother with the generic "we'll look into this" response."
"I used to go to the Voodoo each Fridays. Before Covid this club was very good. And, now I don’t enjoy anymore. The music is always the same. For more than 1 year they are playing the same playlist. One night I went to Voodoo and I didn’t want to spend 3 euros for the cloakroom. So I left my jacket on the sofa hiding from everybody and the result is that someone stole my AirPods from my pocket… Now, I know that if I want my belongings safe…… I have to pay 3 euros each time… Recently, I went twice because my friends wanted to go to celebrate their birthday and the music was terrible… I was walking through the club and there were a very bad smell at some parts… We stayed 1 hour. Don’t know what happened with this club but it is a second times I’m disappointed. That will be great to consider to change few things. Looks like now this club is for old people above 50 years old. Please, renew your pIaylist. Hire different DJ. I will try the new clubs in Cork and I won’t come back there. Too expensive for what they offer."
"Well I am surprised I was asked to leave a review, I was not really inside the place, I was waiting for a friend in the entrance. But the last I knew of this place was that they don't let black/non-white people in, the used to have this tall/huge Eastern European bouncer (most likely Polish), who made it his life goals not ever to let any black guy through the door. The Polish bouncer is probably helping Russia flight Ukraine, as I didn't see him there yesterday. To be fair my experience trying to get in to Voodoo was years ago, They have probably changed now, though most black people that have lived in Cork long enough still don't bother going there as they won't get in. The last time I tried to get in was in 2018, lol. Many more cool places to go than suffer discrimination and humiliation over your skin color. I have had a couple of Brazilians say they all experienced the same thing, as I said this was all years ago."
