"My parents stayed here at the weekend and on Saturday we wanted to sit and have a drink in the bar. Unfortunately every table was laden with dirty dishes and glasses with no staff around to tidy up or serve. We eventually found a seat out in the lobby but it took a very long time to get served in the bar, the bar itself was covered in dirty glasses all night. A couple of young people were doing their best to serve the customers but to be honest the bar was so dirty, it simply wasn't a nice experience to be there. What's the point in spending a fortune doing up the bar and then not having enough staff? It was very disappointing."

"Went to High Kings there. Concert was very good. Went to bar afterwards however and 3 very young staff on. Good crowd enough in there. While they tried their best they only had 1 card machine available to them for payment and customers grew frustrated trying to order. Leftover glasses and bottles on all the tables, hard to sit down anywhere. These were eventually cleared about hour and half later. Work to be done here to train staff"

"A good choice if you are looking for clean, friendly accommodation in the area with the advantage of some decent facilities. The restaurant is basic in appearance, it feels a little like eating in a school hall, but clean with friendly staff, and a reasonable menu, just don't expect any chic ambience. The alternative bar was undergoing renovation at the time of my visit, this may deliver a more interesting dining and drinking experience. The room was a good size, cleaned daily, TV channel choice was basic and my room remote had batteries held in with cardboard and tape, and the hairdryer was only slightly warmer than the room, but again, totally fine for the week I stayed and all in all, I'm very happy to recommend and I would certainly stay again if required, good solid choice, just nothing to be particularly excited about, not a destination hotel unless you're attending one of the many local performances held in the entertainment hall."

"As of the Talbot group of hotels I am amazed of such low standard .From the food in the evening time an breakfast time an the attitude from a lot of the staff was very poor.also went back up after breakfast for showers an the water had being turned off for maintenance. I would have had no problem if we had to be informed before hand .I spoke to assistant manager an all our details were taken an said he get a manager to phone us .but that's a while back now so it seems to that customer care is not a priority."

"I was here for a one night break away, the room was lovely, but our room was situated right beside the elevator so during the night you could hear the work of the elevator for the whole night! I did not get to sleep until 5AM due to this, i was highly disappointed as well as the noise of the elevator some guests where extremely loud at 2.15 AM and 3.20 AM, this was not the hotels fault but added to my frustration. The room was extremely warm too! The purpose of my stay was to rest and relax, I did neither."
