"Rooms like prison cells, some vip rooms are average, service an convenience are absent, no coffee machine at all. However, location is the city centre, so everything is nearby, shops, cafe's, public utilities and places of interest."
"Where to begin ? To start, the management, Matthew is incredibly rude. Upon being told there was no internet in the rooms he told my friend who wished to speak with her husband that “she was on her phone to much.” But we’re from the states so it was incredibly important that she was able to talk to her partner and kids. The bathrooms reek of mold, there were brown stains on the towels, as well as black stains on my coffee cup. The room had a broken light, resulting in broken glass as well as cockroaches and other bugs, they didn’t have any regard for the dietary restrictions of my group; those being vegetarian and lactose intolerant- so someone ate the food with cheese on it, not knowing it was cheese. There’s also no ac units, which isn’t the worst problem, but considering the only way to get a cool temperature is by opening your window- it adds to the negatives. Also, if you had hopes of changing in your room, maybe don’t, as you can see through the key holes into peoples rooms. Speaking of keys; your only given one and it’s incredibly hard to lock and unlock the doors. There’s also no elevator so if your handicapped you have no way of going anywhere other than the ground floor. I wouldn't ask my worst enemy to stay here. If I could give this negative stars, I would."
"Rooms are tiny and they smell. Went with a large group and Tralee itself is nice but we didn't want to stay in the hotel very long. The owner, Matthew, is a little uneasy. Also, my room full of girls had an instance of someone trying to open our door at 4am."
"It might be a 2 star establishment, but Matthew is a 5 star proprietor! Such a caring and kind person who genuinely cares about his guests and goes above and beyond to make sure they have a nice stay. As a person traveling on a budget it is so wonderful when I find accommodation that is both affordable and clean and comfortable. The rooms are simple yet well appointed, nicely painted and have everything you need. Everything was spotless and the other staff in the hotel were also very nice and friendly. I highly recommend this place and will be back for sure. Thanks a mill Matthew"
"So cozy and accommodating. Unlike some other hostels, reception isn't in your face throughout your stay and you're given more autonomy here which I loved. They provide linens and towels (free of charge), private bathroom, lots of outlets, and the doors lock (both main door and bedroom doors) which is a huge plus. Perfect location very close to town centre but far enough away that you're not bothered by the crowds walking around. Genuinely the best hostel I've ever stayed in in Europe, would 100% book again,"
