"A nice little cottage with pretty much everything you need. The view from the main bedroom is gorgeous. So nice to wake up and see the green fields and hills. I'm glad I took a throw with me though as it was a little cooler than I'd have liked but we didn't want to mess around with the heating too much. This is a lovely place to chill out and go for long walks as it's near to many of the walking trails. This would be perfect for a summer get away."
"The Poppies cottage was squeaky, spotless clean on arrival, and had an old charm plus stylish poppy theme. The view from the main bedroom worth mentioning! See photo. Do try to catch a sunset from it, we read it has a rare phenomena -you can see the sun set twice on the same day! But we didn't check ourselves. The cottage is small, and you might find you need to move the chairs all the time to get through. The kitchen is interestingly acrobatic, but has all needed items and, what I value, the knifes are sharp enough, and I likes the service of old but quality plates . Understandably, no salt, sugar, so don't forget to bring your own; although there were individual bags of cocoa, tea, etc. Recycling is possible, you just need a separate bag/box somewhere, may be under sink. The location of the cottage is very convenient, both for the walks on your doorstep and to travel. The local village is very nice, and on the way there I enjoyed someone's rockery garden, see photos. There is a working Quarry on the other side of the hill from the cottage. I wouldn't notice, but two of my family coughed and complained they can feel the difference of the air quality. We liked our holidays in this cottage, thank you!"
"A wonderful little cottage, with all the amenities you could need and a most welcoming and accommodating owner. Location is wonderful, with stunning views. Within easy reach of all of the southern peak district, as well as many northern midland towns. Warm and cosy, we were there late summer but needed some heating. I can imagine it is a wonderful experience on crisp winter days to return to this snug little getaway. Highly recommended."
