Reviews
"Tollymore Forest is beautiful. Different walks beside the Shimna River with the chance to see red squirrels and other wildlife. Equally beautiful in summer and winter."
"Picturesque camp site in the wonderful Tollymore forest park. Improved by some recent work on the washing, and showering ant toilet areas. Reasonable space for caravans and motorhomes, but only 10 camping tents allowed, apart from youth sites. Ridiculous, bearing in mind the size of the place."
"This is an excellent campsite, It does not have electric but that shouldn't put anyone off choosing this as an option for camping here The toilets and shower block is slightly dated, (the toilets could so with being replaced as the flush action is quite difficult to use) however they are cleaned regularly. And the kitchen area is nearby and very clean. The quiet hours are 11pm-8am and seems to be inforced as once that time came it was silent. Loads of fabulous walks and the stepping stones are our children's favourite. The views speak for themselves, prices are extremely reasonable and pitches aren't restrictive in size. I will be booking again for next year"
"Relaxed and spacious site with perfect views of the Mournes. Loads of local cycling and walking, plus some more adventurous routes for the active types (we managed a walk up to Slieve Donard and back from the site). Washroom facilities are plentiful and spotlessly clean with loads of hot water (but perhaps a bit dated). Loved it."
"I enjoy my time here because I know what to expect. You have to pre-book, but you aren't assigned a particular site - first come first served, which can be a problem if you use your camper for daily travel, eg, to the shops. The toilet/shower blocks are okay but have not been upgraded in YEARS; not all the cubicles have functional locks...but, they are clean (at least, as can be expected, with a changing clientele). There are no shops on site, but the town is only a couple of miles away, and the forest IS worth the visit! And, the staff (rangers, cleaners) are very pleasant."
