"HR system needs sorting out. Officially, I'm still waiting on the results of job interviews I attended 3 years ago. I don't think I got any of them. At the time I was unemployed and spent half my week's budget travelling to each one. It would have been good if they'd actually had the courtesy to let me know either way."
"NCUC is an excellent institution for higher education. Qualified tutors and support for all students including those with disabilities."
"TLDR: Good quality place, needs a fair better level of communication for 5⭐ Liking the course and the people I've met, it doesn't feel like I'm learning much of anything but I already have personal experience in my field so I do probably outclass what's expected from baseline students of said courses in terms of skill and/or understanding. Some of the communication leaves a lot to be desired, sometimes no communication about certain things. For example, restricted areas where someone threatens to kick you off the course because you entered a building with no warnings or signs indicating only certain lanyards may enter. Or an elevator which is only marked as a staff elevator on one of three floors. Or what to do in the event of something like a fire. These kinda things are crucial for a long term educational place... The enrollment was fairly simple and they were nice at coordinating me where to go but a much more guided introduction to the college rather than a swift tour of a few places, mail, map and misc info would've been greatly preferred, it's a bit difficult to get accustomed in the first month when it feels like they threw you into the deep end while the actual learning is the kids area. Despite the rant, it's held up by its lecturers, fantastic facilities and cool people. Special needs support seems great, bursary fund is a bit hellish to sign up for but works extremely well. Safeguarding is seriously considered and we'll put together"
"Charlotte Wilcox in the beauty department is truly an atrocious power hungry tutor who puts extreme pressure on her pupils. My child does nothing but the best but nothing will ever seem to be good enough for Charlotte with a mindset of “ I’m right , your wrong “ towards her pupils as she has quoted “ I’ve been in this industry for 16 years , I’m always right “ . She threatens to kick her pupils out I’ve been told over the smallest of things and takes no time in hurting peoples feelings and ambitions. If you want your child to be taught by a barbaric emotionless power hungry woman in the beauty department send your child here , if not I would suggest else where."
"I very much enjoyed my time for the 3 years that I was here. I studied Electrical Installation levels 1-3 and all my tutors that I had throughout the years were very helpful and were all able to give very good insights on their experience when they were in the trade. Unfortunately at the time I went, all of my years were subject to various rules due to COVID including not being able to attend for some months at a time due to lockdowns, and being in a course that heavily revolves around practical work it made learning a lot more difficult as we were only able to concentrate on the theory/written side of what our course had to offer. The staff and admin team here however, were very helpful and empathetic. I live quite far from Newcastle which made transport very difficult and expensive for me and certain arrangements were made so that my lessons could be compacted down to less days in a week which was very kind of them. If I could go back just for another year then I would do in a heartbeat, my experience here was a thousand times better than what it was when I was in school; you are actually treat like an adult (contrary to what my school career advisers told me about college), there is a very broad range of courses to choose from, you get at least a day or two off every week, unlike being in school for a full 5 days, and the tutors are a lot more experienced and professional unlike the so-called "teachers" at my old school. I would highly recommend it and your experience should be even better than mine now without the disruption of the silly COVID rules."
